So, Zabuza was 9 when he slaughtered the graduating class, and 26 when he died, back when Kakashi was also 26.

Zabuza slaughtered his class as a way of proving himself to Yagura, who had created a kill your classmate policy while being controlled by Tobi.

So, during that battle with Kakashi, Obito was either 26 or 29, depending on which source you use. At the time Zabuza killed his classmates, Kakashi was also 9, seeing as they were the same age. So, Obito was either 9 or 12.

Tobi was a full-grown man working with Yagura and Kisame. Obito was a squirt at that time.

So, it seems to me that we're back to the multiple Tobi theory, now that Obito is confirmed as Tobi, since he couldn't have been adult-sized while controlling Yagura all the way in Kirigakure while failing the Chunin exams as a squirt over in Konoha.

My thinking right now is that Madara was alive during Kakashi Gaiden and found Obito, and took him under his wing. When Madara died, Obito took the Tobi mantle from madara, like the next Dread Pirate Roberts.

i think you are right. in order for this mess to start making sense the multiple Tobi theory is quite likely the best explanation. also, Madara's death must have happened far later than what we previously thought. :shrug: there is no way Obito could be changing ages back and forth.

That doesn't work. Kisame saw both long haired and short haired Tobi's faces. This means that Tobi is in fact just one person, since Kisame recognized him as being the same person so many years ago.

also quite likely... or maybe when he left with Jiraiya and Itachi and Kisame caught up to them, maybe Itachi did succeed to put him under a friggin genjutsu. anytime now Sasuke will barge in and things will start all over again... no, wait...

but, hovis, doesn't oro's tech decay the host body over the period of a few years? tobi would certainly have moved on from obito's body by now.

Just to clear up the age thing of Kakashi, in the official Naruto Shippuden Data Book created by Kishi himself. Kakashi is stated to be 27 years old. So Kakashi was 11 when Naruto was born and Tobi attacked Konoha

Just clearing things up. and thus below meaning, when Obito died he was older then Kakashi
