Power in bleach has been contradicted itself now since Kenpachi basically knows the name of his zanpukuto might as well say he is the strongest in all of Soul Society which I find to be total BS but of course leave it too Tite Kubo too change the scene when we viewers are about the name of his zanpukuto he did the same thing on when Ichigo was about to learn out who saved Chad, Orihime and Kisuke even tho we know its Grim Jaw still I hate the teasing. Along side it I don't understand how Ichigo failed in his training but Renji passed I mean come on RENJI don't get me wrong Renji is alright but not no where near better then Ichigo overall the new chapter of bleach was alright nothing as special.

the reason he lost was because he could fight with out any help(i guess renji had help(zanpukuto?). Anyway the reason he fail mainly was b/c he is indeed a quincy(his mother was one)

Ichigo failing the test doesn't mean he is weaker than Renji, if you read closely to what the dude said, Ichigo has basically been handing out ass whoopings without Zangetsu.

Also it's been fated that Kenpachi would become the next H.N.I.C/ unlock his swords name.

^^^ During the time Aizen, Gin and Tosen left Soul Society during the war that was it was NOW!!!! I have no idea since the old man is dead and Retsu likely is dead and with the power up with Kenpachi I refuse to believe he is as strong as Shunsui and Ukitake

Well, the process of learning could be fast here. From what we've seen in this chapter Zaraki's Zanpakuto didn't behave as arogant as the other Zanpakuto's. I know we know nothing about his Zanpakuto, I just have this feeling. And the other thing is, they are together for a very long time, Zaraki just couldn't hear his Zanpakuto but it knows him so those "meaningless" chating about Zaraki's and his Zanpakuto's could be avoided here. (Just pointing on conversations between Ichigo and Zangetsu about Zangetsu's resolve to lend or not lend his power to Ichigo).

Zaraki's exponential growth was long seen coming. You really shouldn't be this surprised by it...

Renji passing the training while Ichigo didn't has nothing to do with who's "better". Ichigo supposedly failed because, according to Ouetsu, the Asauchi didn't choose him because he isn't a true Shinigami like Renji. He's a mix of a whole bunch of crap - Human, Quincy, and an inner Hollow. It's not shocking that the Asauchi didn't see Ichigo worthy. Ichigo's probably gonna have some other trial now. Possibly confront Zangetsu in his inner world and have a long chat

I thought this was apparent since the beginning of the series when Ichigo was training to achieve Bankai (and find the "true Zangetsu"). The Zanpakuto is a reflection - even the embodiment of the Soul Reaper who wields it.

This is further elaborated upon when Ichigo uses Mugetsu. "The ultimate form... is me."

Then, this is hinted at, again, when whats-his-nuts said: "Your Zanpakuto is your master? Your friend? Lover? Wrong."

The fact that Ichigo has had his Soul Reaper powers instigated by the contribution of other soul reapers (Rukia, then all of the captains and lieutenants of the Gotei 13) could also factor into this (along with the fact that he's not had any of the typical training of a soul reaper).

Though it does make a convenient reason for him to learn how to utilize Quincy powers. Though if it's anything like the Fullbringer arc... "Good job, you learned something that would be very useful. I'll be taking that, and giving you back your old powers with a slightly new look."
