Black Clover uses so many tropes that every other piece of it leaves you thinking of other shounen. The catch is that there's always a twist that makes Black Clover original. Asta's own "Tailed Beast" is the weakest as opposed to Kurama being the strongest. It's the mothers (Noelle's mother, Asta's mother, and the Witch Queen) that tend to fill the role fathers in shounen fill (this sort of expository for the child's future capabilities, background, or in-story standing). In One Piece, no one has mothers but it's like the opposite for Black Clover. In Yuno's case, he's the quiet and blessed protag who fills Sasuke's role. They're only similar on the surface level though. They share the same demeanor, social standing, and had their parents massacred, but Yuno is adamant about staying close with Asta whereas Sasuke isolated himself. Yuno's betrayal is what would happen if Black Clover wanted to wrap up the story with its signature mark on it.
It could be that Asta does indeed become the Wizard King and ends up having to use his kingdom to fight Yuno's own. Breaking another trope, both would become hokage while ending the relationship on bad terms.
