Yugito Akkipuden Episode 38: Preparation

Author's Note: While the Akatsuki are just about battle ready, the Five Major Nations gear up for war!
~Konohagakure
Ino was hooked up to one of their Long Distance Communication devices and she was contacting Shī, Junyō (Utada's Head of Communications), Bimata (Mandō's Head of Communications) and Teiyachi (Ōtatsuchi's Head of Communications). They were all going over plans, strategies, supply needs; the essentials for war. She also let Shī know that Yugito was with Midori and Bee on the Island Turtle.
Sakura was at the Konoha Hospital helping the nurses heal the injured with her Isoi Kaifuku no Jutsu (Hastened Recovery Technique), a significant medical Ninjutsu she's created. The technique increases the number of white blood cells, thus speeding up or "hastening" the healing process. A wound that would take normally several days to heal will be healed in several minutes if the technique is done correctly. She had her pupil, Anami, with her assisting in the healing process.
Sakura: Anami, with the Isoi Kaifuku no Jutsu, be sure to focus on the white blood cells.
Anami: Yes, ma'am!
Hayate and mostly everyone in his Konoha 12 generation were back on their feet and helping the village prepare for yet another world war. Hayate and Kota were at the weapons section helping count the weapons and helping the other Shinobi transport them to wagons so that the other nations could also use them. Han Lee, Toshiro and Kenta were helping the other Chūnin with the food supplies as Shikoku, Izumi and Hitomi helped save trapped villagers that were caught in the crossfire of the Akatsuki's attack. Asuka, however, was still at the Konoha Hospital, resting.
Kota: Hayate-kun.
Hayate: Hmm?
Kota: You know, this is the second time that you're Mom's Hastened Recovery Technique saved my life.
Hayate: The second?
Kota: Mhmm. During our Chuunin exams when Bee #2 nearly killed me, she used the jutsu on my pierced heart and she managed to save me.
Hayate: She created that jutsu about 15 years ago she says. And I think she's the only one that knows how to do it.
Kota: Hmm… About Seiji… I know he's supposed to be one of us, but did you see his eyes? They were dead. That wasn't him.
He thought for a moment.
Hayate: It was him alright. That wasn't a clone or an imitation. That was him. But at the same time, it wasn't. I saw his eyes. Believe me, the Seiji I know would never hurt anyone in the Konohagakure, especially one of his best friends. And definitely not-
Kota: Asuka-chan?
Hayate: Yeah… Her…
Kota: I agree with you though. He'd never lay a forceful hand on her. But he nearly shocked her to death. Hokage-sama is debating on what to consider him right now. It'll either be a domestic issue, or she'll have all five nations hunt him down for treason. Neither is good, but something has to be done.
Hayate: I want to go out after him, but abandoning the village at a time like this… my Mom won't have a choice but to agree with what the Gokage decide.
Kota: I know how you feel man… I want to go after him too. But it's stupid to try to go after him now.
Hayate: There's a chance that the Akatsuki will have him fight in the war against us…
Kota: What makes you say that?!
Hayate: They already had us fight him once… And since we lost, what's stopping them from sending him after us again?
Kota: Yeah… That's true. Nothing holding them back now…
Hayate: One thing is bothering me though…
Kota: What?
Hayate: Seiji used a technique he's never used before. He formed lightning at his hands, put them together and shot a bolt of lightning like a gun. He's never done that before, or at least I've never seen him do it before. And I know every one of his jutsu.
Kota: Maybe it's a jutsu he just thought of?
Hayate: Impossible. He did specific hand seals for it as well. That's no "heat of the moment" thing.
Kota: I see what you mean.
Hayate: Yeah… I think someone is controlling him. Pulling the strings or something. There's no way in Hell that Seiji-kun would turn his back on us and almost kill the love of his life.
Kota: He and Asuka-chan have been together for quite a while now. They've obviously fallen for each other… Someone's gotta be controlling him. Maybe a Genjutsu or something.
Hayate: Whatever it is, we've gotta snap him out of it.
Just then, the 3rd Generation Ino-Shika-Chō approached the weapons department. Shikamaro Nara, the first son of Shikamaru Nara, Inochi Yamanaka, Ino's only son, and Chōsen Akimichi, Chōji's first son, were looking for someone. Shikamaro was walking in front of the other two and had a scroll in his hand.
Shikamaro (calling out): Is Hayate Haruno, son of the Hokage, around? We've got a message to deliver to him.
Hayate: Hm? Is that Shikamaro sensei? What could he want with me?
He walked outside and saw that Shikamaro was with his squad mates. He approached Shikamaro.
Shikamaro: Here ya go. Seemed pretty urgent.
He held out the scroll and Hayate took it.
Hayate: Thank you.
The three, highly skilled sensei walked away and he opened the scroll and began reading it. His eyes opened wide and he ran off.
He ran all the way to the Hokage's Mansion and went to the roof of the building. Sakura was standing on the roof and was looking out onto the village. Hayate stopped in his tracks and immediately got on one knee while planting one fist onto the ground.
Hayate: You requested me at once, Hokage-sama?
Sakura: Yes. I want you to do something for me.
She turned around and looked at her son.
Sakura: You may stand.
He stood.
Sakura: As you can tell by the scroll… this is a little bit last minute. But I think you have a right to know.
Hayate swallowed hard and a millions thoughts were going through his head.
Sakura: I've notified the Raikage and let him know that Midori and Bee snuck Yugito onto the Island Turtle for Bijū training. The Gokage quickly decided that it is best for her to stay there with the other two Jinchūriki.
Hayate: Why is that?
Sakura: To hide those three from the Akatsuki during the war. The Akatsuki are after all nine Bijū because they want to awaken a legendary beast known as the Juubi (Ten-Tails). As you probably don't know, when a Bijū is extracted from its host, the Jinchūriki dies. So we're trying to prevent that and keep order in the world. That is the purpose behind this upcoming.
Hayate: I see…
Sakura: I know you want to protect her.
Hayate: Hmm?
Sakura: Yugito. You want to protect her with your life.
Hayate: Ugh?!
He looked to the ground and started blushing slightly.
Hayate: What-What makes you say that?
Sakura: I'm not old just yet. These eyes still see plenty. It's not hard to tell that you two have a thing for each other. Back when I sent you and Seiji with Utada's Battalion, Yugito wanted to tag along because she had the desire to protect you. That's why when I denied her, she became furious.
Hayate: Hmph. You always were pretty smart, Mom.
Sakura smiled and Hayate smiled back.
Hayate: Thank you for telling me the situation. I should be going though. I've got duties to attend to.
He turned and started to walk away.
Sakura: One more thing.
He stopped and looked back.
Sakura: I want you to join the ANBU.
Hayate: Hm?! The-The ANBU?! What for?
Sakura: If you join the ANBU, I can station you on the Island Turtle with a small team in secret and you can personally guard Yugito and the others.
Hayate (thinking): Really?! I can guard Yugito if I join the ANBU! But… Everyone else…
Sakura: What do you say?
Hayate: As much as I'd love to guard her… I can't accept.
Sakura: Hm? Why is this?
Hayate: Everyone else. I'm the only Shinobi alive that can clad himself in a cloak of Katon no Yoroi, it's my signature "Phoenix Mode". The Allied Shinobi Forces could really use my power on the battlefield. I'd be nice to guard her and the others, but I can't be selfish and let my power go to waste.
Sakura (thinking): Wow Hayate… You've grown so much… I remember when you were just a boy. Now… you're your own man.
Sakura began smiling again.
Sakura: Alright then. You'll be in the Third Division which is going to be led by Dī.
Hayate (excited): Dī?! The Raikage's son?! He's going to be a Division Commander?!
Sakura: Mhmm! He along with Hanabi Hyūga-
Hayate: Hitomi's Mom…?
Sakura: Yes. Her prowess in combat is comparable to that of Neji Hyūga. But you never got to meet him. He was truly an outstanding Shinobi. With Dī and Hanabi will be Utada of the Sand, Tōrei, Leader of the Samurai and Batsuchi. He's a skill Jōnin of the Iwagakure that specializes in Doton jutsu.
Hayate: Seems like you've got quite the lineup. Hmm.
Sakura: Me and the other Kage handpicked each of them. Well, I've taken up too much of your time. Head on back to your duties.
Hayate: Yes, ma'am.
They both turned away from each other and Hayate began to walk off while Sakura began walking towards the ledge of the roof. She went back to overlooking the village before going back to her office and completing the paperwork that was in large stacks on her desk and on the floor around her desk. Just then, she felt someone hug her from behind. It was Hayate.
Hayate: I love you, Mom. No matter if you're the Hokage or not, you're still the best Mom on the planet.
Sakura rubbed his spiky, orange hair and then hugged him back.
Sakura (thinking): You look so much like your father…
They both released their hug and Hayate jumped off the roof of the Hokage Mansion, stuck the landing and ran through the village. As Hayate ran through the village, Sakura looked down with a gloomy expression on her face. She began thinking of a traumatizing past event.
~The Land of Earth Border, 16 years ago
Sakura and on her knees and crying over a man's body. The man had spiky orange hair with bangs that framed either side of his face like Minato Namikaze's hair. He had several stab wounds on his chest, his Konoha Flak Jacket was nearly covered in blood, and he was bleeding from his mouth. Sakura was trying to desperately use her Medical Ninjutsu on him while tears streamed down her face.
Orange-Haired Man (weak voice): It's too late, Sakura. He pierced my heart. You don't have to waste your chakra on me.
Sakura (crying): No! I can save you! I won't let you die on me!
Orange-Haired Man: Stop… You've gotta get out of here. Tell Naruto-sama that we were ambushed.
Sakura (crying hysterically): Please, you can't go.
Orange-Haired Man: Sakura, I love you and I always will.
Sakura: Hirana… Please…
Hirana: Shino, please get her home safe.
Shino Aburame was standing a few steps behind Sakura.
Shino: You have my word as your friend.
Hirana coughed up blood onto Sakura's green Flak Jacket and then is head rolled to the left. His eyes closed and he passed away.
Sakura (to herself): Hirana…?
A large group of assassins wearing all black and black masks appeared about 100 meters away.
Assassin 1: There they are!
Assassin 2: Doton: Doryūdan no Jutsu! (Earth Style: Earth Dragon Bullet Technique)
Shino: We have to go!
Shino used his left arm and grabbed Sakura around her waist and carried her off through the trees.
Sakura (screaming): Hirana!
On the roof of the Hokage Mansion, Sakura was still looking depressed. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath.
Sakura (thinking): Hirana… Please guide me.
~Kumogakure, Raikage's Mansion, The Office
Darui was in his office alone doing paperwork at his desk. Two knocks came from the door to his office.
Darui: C'mon in.
In walked Samui with a small stack of papers. Darui looked up and once he saw her, a smile came across his face. He put down his writing utensil and stood up. She walked over to his desk and placed the stack down. They hug and Darui kisses her passionately.
Samui (blushing): How's work coming along?
Darui: Same ole, same ole. It's been a pretty drab day up to now.
Samui: Up to now? Am I making it better?
Darui: You sure are.
He scooped her legs up and carried her to his desk. He sat in his chair and, while he was still holding her, he sat her in his lap. Her legs were hanging over the arm of the chair.
Darui: You know what I'm glad I did?
Samui: What?
Darui: I'm glad I never gave up on you. I worked for 6 solid years on finding a way to reverse the effects of the Benihisago (Crimson Gourd). We had finally found a way to free you and your brother and many others. And that was the happiest day of my life.
Samui: Aww. Thank you, Darui.
Another set of knocks came from his office door. Samui quickly stood up from his lap and stood to Darui's left at a position of attention. Darui slid his chair closer to his desk and picked up his writing utensil as if he were writing.
Darui: Come in.
In walked his son, Dī, his daughter Tarui, and his niece Kamui.
Dī: Raikage-sama. Mizukage Mandō has arrived and he has immediately begun separating the troops of his village and our own by skill set for the Divisions.
Darui: Excellent. Head down and give him some assistance if needed. Tarui-
Tarui: Sir!
Darui: Assist your brother.
Tarui: Yes, sir!
Dī: Let's get going.
The two hurried off to the Mizukage.
Darui: Kamui-
Kamui: Sir?
Darui: Connect to the other villages with Shī and check on things in the other villages and then report back to me.
Kamui: I'm on it.
She turned and exited the room, closing the door behind herself.
Darui: So, Samui. I hear you've been training yourself to master Teleportation Ninjutsu.
Samui: That is true. I've mastered the Tensō no Jutsu (Ethereal Transmission Technique) and I've started digging around for more information on the Hiraishin no Jutsu (Flying Thunder God Technique).
Darui: Hm… I've thought about putting together a Teleportation Team for the appending war. Do you think you can handle being the Captain of this team?
Samui: W-What?! You'd really do that?
Darui: Of course. If you've managed to master Mabui-chan's signature jutsu, then I think you can lead the Teleportation Team.
Samui: I won't let you down.
Darui: I know you won't.
They looked into each other's eyes and smiled.
~Iwagakure, Tsuchikage Mansion
Tsuchikage Ōtatsuchi was at her desk filing out papers when she received a few knocks at the door.
Ōtatsuchi: Come on in.
Stone Kunoichi: Ōtatsuchi-sama! The Kazekage and his village Shinobi have arrived!
Ōtatsuchi: Really? Right on time. We were just about to head out.
Ōtatsuchi stands from her desk and walks over to her wide window that allowed her to view out and see the entire village. She saw Utada on a sand platform levitating off of the ground and all of his Sunagakure Shinobi were on the rooftops of the buildings that were closest to the Tsuchikage's Mansion, all facing the Mansion and kneeling on one knee while bowing. Kazekage Utada had gathered every able bodied Shinobi and Kunoichi and reached the Iwagakure, ready to make the journey to the Kumogakure.
Ōtatsuchi: It's impressive. For a Kage so young, he's no slacker.
Ōtatsuchi and Utada made eye contact and Utada nodded to her. She nodded back and smiled.
Ōtatsuchi: Alright, Teai. Let's get rockin'!
Teai: Yes, ma'am!
~Island Turtle, Temple Ruins
Yugito was still in her Kyuubi Chakra Mode and had rather large circular, triangular and rectangular blocks stacked on top of one another and she was balancing upside down on one hand on the very top block; she had about 12 blocks stacked up. She was a little wobbly and it was getting harder to balance.
Bee: You're doing pretty well, Yugito-chan! That's how it's done!
Midori: She's getting the hang of this faster than I did…
Yugito: Ah-ahh!
She lost her balance and slipped off the top block and fell to the floor, which causing every single block to fall down as well.
Midori (thinking): Never mind.
Yugito (rubbing her head): Ow… This isn't going to be easy…
Bee: Nothing about Bijū training is easy. Just know you're on the final part and you made it look breezy.
Yugito: Thanks… I think?
Midori: Let's get back to it, Yugito-chan. The only way to get better is to keep practicing.
Yugito (nodding in agreement): Hmph!

Sakura: Hirana… Please…
Hirana: Shino, please get her home safe.
Shino Aburame was standing a few steps behind Sakura.
Shino: You have my word as your friend.
Hirana coughed up blood onto Sakura's green Flak Jacket and then is head rolled to the left. His eyes closed and he passed away.
Sakura (to herself): Hirana…?
A large group of assassins wearing all black and black masks appeared about 100 meters away.
Assassin 1: There they are!
Assassin 2: Doton: Doryūdan no Jutsu! (Earth Style: Earth Dragon Bullet Technique)
Shino: We have to go!
Shino used his left arm and grabbed Sakura around her waist and carried her off through the trees.
Sakura (screaming): Hirana!
On the roof of the Hokage Mansion, Sakura was still looking depressed. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath.
Sakura (thinking): Hirana… Please guide me.
~Kumogakure, Raikage's Mansion, The Office
Darui was in his office alone doing paperwork at his desk. Two knocks came from the door to his office.
Darui: C'mon in.
In walked Samui with a small stack of papers. Darui looked up and once he saw her, a smile came across his face. He put down his writing utensil and stood up. She walked over to his desk and placed the stack down. They hug and Darui kisses her passionately.
Samui (blushing): How's work coming along?
Darui: Same ole, same ole. It's been a pretty drab day up to now.
Samui: Up to now? Am I making it better?
Darui: You sure are.
He scooped her legs up and carried her to his desk. He sat in his chair and, while he was still holding her, he sat her in his lap. Her legs were hanging over the arm of the chair.
Darui: You know what I'm glad I did?
Samui: What?
Darui: I'm glad I never gave up on you. I worked for 6 solid years on finding a way to reverse the effects of the Benihisago (Crimson Gourd). We had finally found a way to free you and your brother and many others. And that was the happiest day of my life.
Samui: Aww. Thank you, Darui.
Another set of knocks came from his office door. Samui quickly stood up from his lap and stood to Darui's left at a position of attention. Darui slid his chair closer to his desk and picked up his writing utensil as if he were writing.
Darui: Come in.
In walked his son, Dī, his daughter Tarui, and his niece Kamui.
Dī: Raikage-sama. Mizukage Mandō has arrived and he has immediately begun separating the troops of his village and our own by skill set for the Divisions.
Darui: Excellent. Head down and give him some assistance if needed. Tarui-
Tarui: Sir!
Darui: Assist your brother.
Tarui: Yes, sir!
Dī: Let's get going.
The two hurried off to the Mizukage.
Darui: Kamui-
Kamui: Sir?
Darui: Connect to the other villages with Shī and check on things in the other villages and then report back to me.
Kamui: I'm on it.
She turned and exited the room, closing the door behind herself.
Darui: So, Samui. I hear you've been training yourself to master Teleportation Ninjutsu.
Samui: That is true. I've mastered the Tensō no Jutsu (Ethereal Transmission Technique) and I've started digging around for more information on the Hiraishin no Jutsu (Flying Thunder God Technique).
Darui: Hm… I've thought about putting together a Teleportation Team for the appending war. Do you think you can handle being the Captain of this team?
Samui: W-What?! You'd really do that?
Darui: Of course. If you've managed to master Mabui-chan's signature jutsu, then I think you can lead the Teleportation Team.
Samui: I won't let you down.
Darui: I know you won't.
They looked into each other's eyes and smiled.
~Iwagakure, Tsuchikage Mansion
Tsuchikage Ōtatsuchi was at her desk filing out papers when she received a few knocks at the door.
Ōtatsuchi: Come on in.
Stone Kunoichi: Ōtatsuchi-sama! The Kazekage and his village Shinobi have arrived!
Ōtatsuchi: Really? Right on time. We were just about to head out.
Ōtatsuchi stands from her desk and walks over to her wide window that allowed her to view out and see the entire village. She saw Utada on a sand platform levitating off of the ground and all of his Sunagakure Shinobi were on the rooftops of the buildings that were closest to the Tsuchikage's Mansion, all facing the Mansion and kneeling on one knee while bowing. Kazekage Utada had gathered every able bodied Shinobi and Kunoichi and reached the Iwagakure, ready to make the journey to the Kumogakure.
Ōtatsuchi: It's impressive. For a Kage so young, he's no slacker.
Ōtatsuchi and Utada made eye contact and Utada nodded to her. She nodded back and smiled.
Ōtatsuchi: Alright, Teai. Let's get rockin'!
Teai: Yes, ma'am!
~Island Turtle, Temple Ruins
Yugito was still in her Kyuubi Chakra Mode and had rather large circular, triangular and rectangular blocks stacked on top of one another and she was balancing upside down on one hand on the very top block; she had about 12 blocks stacked up. She was a little wobbly and it was getting harder to balance.
Bee: You're doing pretty well, Yugito-chan! That's how it's done!
Midori: She's getting the hang of this faster than I did…
Yugito: Ah-ahh!
She lost her balance and slipped off the top block and fell to the floor, which causing every single block to fall down as well.
Midori (thinking): Never mind.
Yugito (rubbing her head): Ow… This isn't going to be easy…
Bee: Nothing about Bijū training is easy. Just know you're on the final part and you made it look breezy.
Yugito: Thanks… I think?
Midori: Let's get back to it, Yugito-chan. The only way to get better is to keep practicing.
Yugito (nodding in agreement): Hmph!
