Yugito Akkipuden Episode 35: Confrontation
WARNING: All Jutsu are in Japanese with the English Version in parenthesis.
Author's Note: The Akatsuki has just freed Kabuto Yakushi after being locked away in an incarceration chamber for the last 27 years! What are they intending on using him for?! In the Land of Iron, three Akatsuki members have interrupted another Gokage Summit! What's about to happen!?
~Island Turtle, the Falls of Truth
Yugito was in her fighting stance and ready to fight her counterpart, Dark Yugito. Dark Yugito had her arms crossed and she was giving Yugito a sinister grin.
Yugito: I'll knock that stupid grin right off your face!
She swung for Dark Yugito, who simply ducked to dodge it.
Dark Yugito: I'm you, remember? I know what you're gonna do before you do it.
Yugito growled in anger. She threw another punch and Dark Yugito caught her arm. She flipped her over her head and tossed Yugito to the water. She rolled across the surface of the water and regained control. She looked forward to see Dark Yugito dashing at her. Dark Yugito threw a kick and a punch, both of which Yugito blocked.
Yugito (thinking): Wait a second… I saw that coming.
Yugito countered the punch and tossed Dark Yugito onto the water. As she hit the water, she rolled backwards and did an ukemi to get back to her feet quickly.
Dark Yugito (cocky grin): Hmph.
She dashed at Yugito again while smiling. That disturbing smirk could easily frighten children to point of fainting. But Yugito wasn't startled and dashed at her counterpart. They threw a right punch at each other simultaneously and connected fists. The two stood with their fists connected.
Yugito: You're not me… You're nothing like me.
Dark Yugito: Wrong. I am you. We are the same. You're just too stubborn to accept it! It all started when Mom died.
Yugito's eyes grew wide. She began thinking about the past with her mother.
~Flashback, Konohagakure
Yugito was 9 years old and she was walking with Hinata, her mother, around the village. Hinata had on a casual light blue kimono that had red flowers decorated on it and a red ribbon around her waist. Everything was inaudible, but villagers were waving to Hinata and Yugito as they strolled and Hinata was smiling and returning the favor. Yugito ran in front of Hinata and put her fists on her hips and posed as if she were a super hero. Hinata stopped in front of her and put her hand over her mouth, laughing softly at Yugito and her goofy antics.
~Flashback, the Uzumaki House
Yugito was about 10 years old and she was sitting around the dinner table with Naruto and Hinata. Again, everything was inaudible but Naruto pointed at the window as if e saw something incredible. Yugito took the bait and Naruto snuck the last dumpling off of her plate. Yugito looked back at Naruto with a confused look. She looked at her plate and noticed her missing food and Naruto had his cheeks filled. Hinata giggled at them as Yugito began yelling at Naruto.
~Flashback, Training Field 81
Now 11 years old, Yugito and Hinata were standing in the training field and Yugito was out of breath, knelt down to one knee. She had thrown several shuriken stars and kunai knives at the trees and blocks of wood stationed around the training field; Hinata was helping her with her projectile accuracy. Yugito looked to her mother and Hinata, who was in her Jōnin attire, gave her a smile and a positive head nod. Yugito's face lit up in satisfaction.
~Flashback, Konohagakure
Now 12 years old, Yugito, Naruto and Hinata were at the village gates with the rest of the Hyūga clansmen that were assigned to the mission to the Kirigakure. Yugito was standing quietly, but Naruto was talking to Hinata. Still, everything was inaudible. After Naruto was done, Hinata went to her daughter and kissed her on the forehead and then hugged her. She then went to Naruto and they kissed on the lips. Then all three had a final family hug.
~Flashback, Konohagakure
A light rain was falling over the Konohagakure. Yugito, Naruto, and everybody in the Konoha, even a few people from the Sunagakure and Kumogakure were at Hinata's funeral. They had caskets for Hinata and her fellow clansmen with Hinata in the center with Nobu. Naruto and Yugito were on the front row, both crying to themselves. Yugito was trying her hardest to keep quiet as streams of tears rolled down her face. Naruto had two streams of tears coming from each eye, but he wasn't showing his feelings. He simply had his head lowered and his eyes were set to the ground. Yugito looked to him and he looked to her. Naruto grabbed and held her hand. He closed his eyes and began crying a little harder. Sakura was standing on Naruto's left and she, too, was crying. Kiba and Shino, Hinata's original squad mates, were standing next to one another next to Sakura. Akamaru was next to Kiba and he was lying down, whining.

Yugito and Dark Yugito were still connecting fists. Yugito had a look of worry on her face and her malevolent counterpart had an evil smirk on her face.
Dark Yugito: You're so stupid… Sometimes I wonder if you're actually me.
Yugito: You're right.
Dark Yugito: Hm?
Yugito: I do hate the Kirigakure… But in time, I can learn to forgive them. After all… not everyone in that village is bad. Not everyone had a part in the murder of our mother. But here's where you're wrong, I'd never lay hands on innocent people. That's just the evil inside of you–inside of me trying to get out. You say I'm lying to myself, but I'm starting to get it. You can't live your life suppressing your inner thoughts. You have to confront them and embrace them. And that's what you are. I miss Mom and Dad… but I can't let those emotions turn into anger. I have to turn them into something that'll help people. I want to follow in our parents footsteps, not take a path that is filled with despair and revenge. That's not what they'd want… that's not what I want.
Dark Yugito (thinking): What the hell is she doing?
Yugito: That's the difference between you and I. You can't accept the good side of me, but I can accept the dark side.
Dark Yugito's eyes grew wide and began to fade into Yugito's natural blue eyes. Her body began to disappear and flow upwards.
Yugito: I know I have darkness inside of me… But I'll never let it consume me!
Dark Yugito had completely faded away. Shortly afterwards, the area began to return to its normal color. She quickly stood up and looked back at Midori with a smile.
Midori: So, how'd it go?
Yugito: Let's just say… I've got a lot of issues to work on. Ha, ha.
Midori: So you beat the inner you, huh? Good job!
Bee: Wheeee!
Bee came from a tree and landed on the ground behind them. He was holding up the "rock on" hand symbol and had a sandwich in his other hand.
Bee: This sandwich is off the chain! Check it out yo!
Midori: Really? Is that where you went? To get a damn sandwich?!
Bee: Ayoo, when the stomach says it's lunchtime, it's time to dine! Can't deny the tummy food or you'll die!
Before he knew it, Midori punched him into the water. He dropped the sandwich and all of the condiments scattered everywhere. Midori walked over to him and picked him up by his ankle.
Bee: Damn, Midori-chan! You ain't gotta hit me like that, son!
Midori: Last I checked, I was a girl.
Bee: Well, how about I check?
Midori's eye twitched and she tossed him across the water and into the waterfall; Bee #2 shrieked hysterically as he tumbled. Midori closed her eyes, took deep breaths and gathered her composure.
Midori: Anyway, shall we continue?
Yugito: Where to now?
Midori: Threw here. She began walking towards the waterfall.
Yugito: Uh… I don't think there's anything behind that…
Midori: Why don't you come take look for yourself?
Yugito raised an eyebrow and followed her to the waterfall that she threw Bee #2 behind. Right after she felt the water splash on her hair, she blinked and she was in a light blue room with golden sculptures all around. The sculptures were headless, which caught Yugito's attention. She was in the area of the Tailed Beast Temple.
Yugito: What happened to these statues?
Midori: Don't pay them too much attention. They're just broken. Let's get to work.
Bee was on the other side of the room; he had tumbled and rolled all the way to the wall that had the Two-Tails face on the chamber door. He was against the wall with his back to it and back was on the floor and his legs were dangling in front of his face. The chamber opened; Midori had stuck her head into the mouth of the Nibi sculpture hit the switch inside. Inside the chamber was oddly colored and it looked cloudy.
Midori: This chamber is designed to hold a Bijū just in case you lose against it. This chamber will hold the beast until a new Jinchūriki can be found.
Yugito, Bee and Midori stepped inside.
Midori: Just sit down and concentrate. We're probably going to be here a while, so take your time.
Bee: Be sure to give the fox a big ol' slap! Now excuse me as I take my nap.
He laid on the floor.
Midori: No, Bee. I need you awake in case things go sideways. We both need to be ready for anything.
Bee: Damn… No nap for me.
He popped up and stood next to Midori. Yugito began to focus again and she began to slip deep into her psyche. Everything went black.
~Yugito's Mind
She woke up on her hands and knees and she was on ankle deep water. She stood up and noticed that the water had a slight yellowish green tint to it. She looked in front of her and saw that she was standing for the Kyuubi. She got a good look at it and a frown came across her face.
Kurama: I can't sense you're real body in the outside world, so this must be it before me. You're gonna try to do what Naruto did, huh?
Yugito: Why did you lie to me, Kyuubi?
Kurama chuckled at her question.
Kurama: I'm not obligated to answer you. I do as I please.
Yugito: You're a stubborn one, huh? Trying to take advantage of a girl.
Kurama: Don't you ever talk down to me, you little runt!
Yugito: I see you aren't going to answer me…
Kurama: You may have his DNA in your blood, but you're no Naruto.
Yugito's eyes grew wide and then her face frowned. The Kyuubi's words were appalling to her ears.
Yugito: Who are you to say who I'm like?! You don't even know me!
Kurama: Says who?
Yugito gasped.
Kurama: I was in Naruto's body for over 40 years. I know everything about him, and I know everything about you.
Yugito: Then you probably know what I gotta do.
Kurama chuckled at her.
Kurama: If you try to follow in your old man's footsteps, you'll die? You're nowhere near his strength, and you never will be.
Yugito began levitating to the seal that was high on the gate.
Yugito: Let us see for ourselves.
She ripped the seal clean off the door. Immediately afterwards, Kurama punched the gate open which sent Yugito back a ways. Once she recovered and looked around, the area had changed. She was now standing before Kurama in a large arena that seemed endless; there were no walls and off in the distant was light red and other colors of the same gradient. She was still standing on the water and Kurama let out a vicious roar.
Yugito (thinking): Average power isn't going to defeat him… I've gotta tap into my Sennin Modō (Sage Mode).
She closed her eyes and concentrated. Her eyelids turned to a light red color and she opened her eyes.
Kurama (thinking): She's mastered Sage Mode like him… No matter. One attack will end this feeble girl!
He rose up his open palm and slammed it down onto Yugito.
Kurama (thinking): Hmph. Just as I thought. Easy. Hm?!
He felt a sensation on his palm. Yugito forced his hand off of her and she tossed him by his hand to the side. The fox landed on the ground, splashing water around him. He looked at her and snarled.
Kurama (thinking): She's stubborn… I'll give her that.
Yugito: Tajū Kage Bunshin no Jutsu! (Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu)
She created several dozen clones, each armed with a Rasengan. About half of them charged forward with the Rasengan at the ready.
Yugito: Ōdama Rasen-!
Kurama quickly gathered his tails and put them in front of him as a shield.
Yugito: Tairengan! (Giant Rasengan Barrage Line)
Her clones had formed a line and attacked the tails all at once, causing a large blue explosion of chakra.
Kurama (thinking): Urgh! That attack! It was on par with his!
He swiped his tails and forces the Yugito clones away, causing all of them to poof away. He looked above him to see that Yugito had the rest of her clones floating overhead.
Kurama: What?!
Yugito: Senpō: Chōōdama Rasen Tarengan! (Sage Art: Massive Rasengan Mega Barrage)
Yugito and each clone had an Ōdama Rasengan (Massive Rasengan) in hand and rained it down on Kurama.
Kurama: Urgghhhh!
The powerful technique caused a large explosion of blue chakra which bounced Kurama away with great force. He slid across the water and recovered by stopping himself. Yugito's clones all poofed away and she landed on the water away from Kurama. She knelt down to one knee, huffing and puffing but at the same time she was smiling in confidence.
Kurama: You think you have me on the ropes? I will not lose to a little girl!
He looked up and opened his mouth. Dark colored chakra began forming around his mouth in the shape of a ball.
Yugito: Ugh! What the heck is that?!
Kurama then bit down and trapped the ball in his mouth. He then focused his eyes on Yugito.
Kurama: Haa!
He opened his mouth and the ball fired at Yugito. Stunned, she managed to jump out of the way and let the oversized ball of chakra detonate against the water, causing a violent explosion. She looked back at the intense explosion.
Yugito (thinking): After all that damage, he's still able to exert chakra like that?! Did I even scratch him?!
She looked to Kurama who was firing another large ball of chakra. She landed and as soon as she landed she had to jump again to dodge. After that one exploded, Kurama began firing the large balls of chakra in rapid succession. After dodging the third and fourth, the fifth ball blew up and the blast threw Yugito away. She tumbled across the water and laid lifelessly on the water's surface. She slowly began to sit up and saw that Kurama was dashing at her. He made a fist and slammed it over her; she had did an ukemi and quickly got to her feet.
Kurama: I'm surprised you were able to get up after that barrage. Rather impressive for the likes of you.
Yugito: I don't get it…
Kurama: Hm?
Yugito: Kyuubi… Why don't you like me? You were in Dad for over 40 years like you said. I know you had to like him at least a little bit. What makes me so much different than him?
Kurama: In case you don't know, I've been inside of three other hosts, your father, his mother and her ancestor. I'm not some animal that can be tamed easily. Your father is the only human I would consider a "friend". If you wish to obtain my power as he did, you'll have to work for it!
Yugito: Me and my Dad are a lot alike. He's told me that I look a lot like his Mom, my grandmother. He's also told me that I've got as much heart as he and his father combined!
The Kyuubi laughed at her.
Kurama: As much heart as Naruto and the Fourth combined? HA! I'll believe that when I see it firsthand.
Yugito: Fine. I'll show you right here and now!

He swiped his tails and forces the Yugito clones away, causing all of them to poof away. He looked above him to see that Yugito had the rest of her clones floating overhead.
Kurama: What?!
Yugito: Senpō: Chōōdama Rasen Tarengan! (Sage Art: Massive Rasengan Mega Barrage)
Yugito and each clone had an Ōdama Rasengan (Massive Rasengan) in hand and rained it down on Kurama.
Kurama: Urgghhhh!
The powerful technique caused a large explosion of blue chakra which bounced Kurama away with great force. He slid across the water and recovered by stopping himself. Yugito's clones all poofed away and she landed on the water away from Kurama. She knelt down to one knee, huffing and puffing but at the same time she was smiling in confidence.
Kurama: You think you have me on the ropes? I will not lose to a little girl!
He looked up and opened his mouth. Dark colored chakra began forming around his mouth in the shape of a ball.
Yugito: Ugh! What the heck is that?!
Kurama then bit down and trapped the ball in his mouth. He then focused his eyes on Yugito.
Kurama: Haa!
He opened his mouth and the ball fired at Yugito. Stunned, she managed to jump out of the way and let the oversized ball of chakra detonate against the water, causing a violent explosion. She looked back at the intense explosion.
Yugito (thinking): After all that damage, he's still able to exert chakra like that?! Did I even scratch him?!
She looked to Kurama who was firing another large ball of chakra. She landed and as soon as she landed she had to jump again to dodge. After that one exploded, Kurama began firing the large balls of chakra in rapid succession. After dodging the third and fourth, the fifth ball blew up and the blast threw Yugito away. She tumbled across the water and laid lifelessly on the water's surface. She slowly began to sit up and saw that Kurama was dashing at her. He made a fist and slammed it over her; she had did an ukemi and quickly got to her feet.
Kurama: I'm surprised you were able to get up after that barrage. Rather impressive for the likes of you.
Yugito: I don't get it…
Kurama: Hm?
Yugito: Kyuubi… Why don't you like me? You were in Dad for over 40 years like you said. I know you had to like him at least a little bit. What makes me so much different than him?
Kurama: In case you don't know, I've been inside of three other hosts, your father, his mother and her ancestor. I'm not some animal that can be tamed easily. Your father is the only human I would consider a "friend". If you wish to obtain my power as he did, you'll have to work for it!
Yugito: Me and my Dad are a lot alike. He's told me that I look a lot like his Mom, my grandmother. He's also told me that I've got as much heart as he and his father combined!
The Kyuubi laughed at her.
Kurama: As much heart as Naruto and the Fourth combined? HA! I'll believe that when I see it firsthand.
Yugito: Fine. I'll show you right here and now!
