I thought her whole 'revenge' thing would be expanded on in the manga, since I'm pretty sure she said she would avenge Hayate in the manga.

Yeah i'm pretty sure it's during the war arc. Apparently she quit the anbu after his death and worked under logistical support and medical division (haha a demotion imo). I agree it would have been kinda cool seeing her at least attempt to avenge hayate's death.
