Team guy hasn't been really shown a lot, so it's it like we can say that he's a coward. When he came back to the village after pain attacked he even offered to face Nagato with naruto, but because of plot shield he couldn't.

Sakura used to be useless in part1, but currently shes more useful than any other young kunoichi from Konoha. And actually, fight against Sasori was quite big feat for her.
