I s Bakemonogatari good ? I tried watching it but I got bored
Depends obviously if you're open to all genres. Like your list consists of dark psychological animes, with a definite tendency towards shounen and gore too.
Bakemonogatari is a very unique anime. If we view it as normal fiction, then it's hard to classify it. For me, it's a masterpiece made for those who love anime culture, more than they love anime. It takes potshots at nearly everything that anime glorified and stereotyped as its culture for its otakus base, over the years. Be it yuri, lolicon, incest, mythology, neko lovers, show-offs, power-ups, vampires ect... Everything is not exploited but used in a new sarcastic humorous form. And that's brilliant to me.
An example of how anime terminology is exploited outstadingly instead of being presented in cliched form: The main heroine, Senjougahara, is a kuudere who claims to be a tsundere but who'll go yandere if her love is killed. Twisted yet so effectively ingenious.
Adding to that flavor, it got outstanding original anime by SHAFT (who is my personal favorite studio in animation). Hitagi Senjougahara is my all-time favorite heroine for lots of reasons. Araragi is a great unconventional lead. The interactions between Hitagi-Araragi are amongst the most hilarious character interactions I've witness in anime. They made me laugh out loud with nearly every scene of theirs. It's dark, sarcastic yet hilarious amusement. And all the lead are excellent to me.
So, yes, for me, it's a great anime but it'll appeal big time, to those who love anime culture more than the anime lovers who watch it depending on action and other genres...
