I am fairly sure that Kevin Goodman will become one of my favorites as well.

Pretty much all of Urasawa's characters are amazing. Lunge, Dr. Tenma, Kevin Yamagata, Johan Liebert, Endo Kenji, Jackie Momochi, Dieter, Grimmer Wolfgang, Yawara, Inspector Gesicht, Tetsuwan Atom, Yukiji Setoguchi, Endo Kanna, Ochiai Chouji etc. etc. The list goes on.

LoGH had an incredibly large cast of well written characters as well. I got my favorites, but they were all so excellently written. The series only flaw was that it was too good. It set the bar so high, that even after 25 years we still haven't seen other series come close to its quality. Sadly, I don't think we'll ever see a better anime than LoGH. Not with the direction the anime industry is taking right now.
