Your thoughts on Sai?

Sai is regarded as one of Roots top operatives, but what got him there?
What is He holding back? So far all we've seen out of him is his ability to draw beasts and bring them to life, and ink clones of course.
Do you guys think he's holding back some cool powerful jutsus? or would he have used them by now? Discuss.

All I know is that if he really is "one of Roots top operatives", Root is not a big deal!

I think Sai is a weak character(not only in the power sense) who Kishi made without much thought. I really think he shouldn't have bothered with him. There's nothing very special about him and he certainly doesn't seem to be anywhere near as good as he was made out to be at the start.

Remember when he seemed to be equal or stronger than Naruto? Now he's like a small nat.

kishi only made him so that the plot of the story goes well , he just needed someone to replace sasuke in team 7, and all the other stuff, i don't think that he meant to make him strong or anything

He can fly, he can make clones, he's fast enough to blitz Deidara and Sasori, his snakes are apparently hard to break if they capture you, his rats are great scouts, he can seal Edo Tensei effectively, he's shown the ability to go underground, he made his artwork explode against Zabuza and Haku.

I think this about sums it up.

I understand where most of you are coming from in his defense, but everything about him is based off of his art. He can he mount any sort of offense if he has no paper, or runs out of ink? Why if the enemy destroys it? Besides his latest summon most of his ink beasts have been rather lack luster, and for the most part are defeated in on one hit.

And yes they did design Said to dress rather gay, he needs to stop shopping at baby gap.

Sai was ONCE, my third favorite character..he's now fallen down the list, but he's still cool though.

He's not a real important character, so there won't be (a lot) of character development. He was really strong at the moment, but people have become strong. So yeah, I don't think so.
He's really cool though
