I just didn't want it to actually be Obito because it was so damn obvious

I was surprised, thought it was cool, and was looking forward to finding out his backstory from the much needed flashback.

Tobi being Obito wasn't a recon, the signs were there. Tobi had 1 Sharingan, Kakashi had 1 Sharingan, Kakashi had a Sharingan as his left eye, Tobi had one Sharingan as his right eye. Both of them warped things, Tobi warped people "into" his eye close up (sucked them in apparently), Kakashi warped things from a distance.

Kakashi warped Deidara's arm to the Kamui dimension, Tobi was able to get Deidara's arm from the Kamui dimension.

Then the chapters leading up to the reveal just made things more obvious. The only problem is most people didn't want him to be Obito so they ignored multiple obvious signs, and or denied them.

there was quite a lot of foreshadowing of obito you know. both times his mask came off, when he meets sasuke and when he fights konan, we only saw the right half of his face. even when the top part was broken, the left part was still in shadow. that led people to think the left side of his face was clearly different, say, as if a boulder had not fallen on it. (well, most people thought it would have horrible scars, but they where wrong and it still works.)

plus all the stuff about similaritys between kakashis kamui and tobi's kamui, spin direction, which eye, etc. made it rather likey that even if tobi wasnt obito, he still had obito's eye. his mask only showed his right eye, even though both of them where sharingan, so the right eye was likely more valuable, and the left was izanagi-fodder. again, doesnt confirm obito, but does support him having obito's eye. and really, if madara had rinnegan, would he swap them for worthless fodder eyes he didnt know had kamui?


he was basically confirmed as obito when we saw his mangekyo, so i wasnt really suprised at him being obito.
