Your rasengan

If you were creating your own version of this jutsu with an element what element would it be and how would it work?

Mine would be something like a lightning style rasengan vortex. It would be rasengan u thru into the clouds and it creates a tornado of chidori suck opponents up and shocking them.

Mine would be a Fire Release Rasengan that you slammed into the ground, creating a shock wave of fire with you as the epicenter.

Water. Elongate it and make it like a harpoon and drill through fodder.
Fire. Guess it would just burn in addition to regular Rasengan effects.
Earth. Stick Rasengan into the ground run towards opponent dragging along the earth and smash them with a giant rotating ball of dirt.
Lightning. It would just be a hybrid between Chidori and Rasengan.
