the basis for every authoritarianism regime is the same - political opression, social repression, censorship, ...
and yes capitalism sucks i agree but democracy (the real democracy which we dont have and wont have as long as we have capitalism) is far far better than any dictatorship
exactly most of them only followed him because they were affraid
Personally I'm not so naive as to believe that in a country that has,for example, 14.000.000 people they can all have the same ideology, the same goals, the same ideas, the same worldviews.A country can have democrats, communists, nationalists, anarchists, liberals etc. Each one of these ideologies have subcategories. In communism there are Stalinists,Maoists,Trotskyists. In nationalism there are fascists, national socialists, metaxists, national anarchists and many other different and controversial ideologies.People also have religious differences. There are Muslims, Orthodox Christians,Catholics,Jews and Buddhists.Do you believe that all this people can eternally coexist peacefully?Without violence? You say that you are against capitalism and you speak about the real democracy. Can you give me a little example of real democracy? And please, don't start about direct democracy and ancient Greece because that's a historical error. It may had the same name but it actually had nothing to do with democracy. You know why?Because
women couldn't vote or express their opinion.
They could be raped, beaten up by their husbands and the state
wouldn't protect them.In order to have civil and political rights you should have a certain amount of possessions. So that means
that poor people didn't have political rights!!!
Senior citizens (i think starting from 50 years old)
couldn't vote.
They had slaves working for them.In fact the city of
Athens had 21.000 citizens and 500.000 slaves!!!.But most important.
There were no elections.The
political offices were filled using sortition(which is the selection of decision makers by lottery)...:sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy: :sy:
In my opinion
democracy in any form of it is a dead end.By studding the writings of ancient Greek philosophers like
Plato,
Aristotle and
Socrates all of whom
were against democracy you can see the
birth of a new political system.Personally, with modern standards
i believe in a political system exactly like that of the 4rth of August Regime which ruled my country from 1936 to 1941.It was the rebirth of the devastated Greece.Promoting the creation of the
Third Hellenic Civilization based upon ancient Sparta and Byzantium empire. The new Greece was to be build upon the traditional Greek
values of Country, Loyalty, Family and Religion.Metaxas' government gained popularity through an elaborate program to socialize the Greek economy, including:
introduction of a minimum wage.
unemployment insurance and the creation of a public employment agency.
maternity leave.
a 5-day, 40-hour workweek.
guaranteed 2-week vacations with pay (or two weeks' double pay in place of the vacation).
stricter work safety standards.
Capitalist had died.Corporatism was born.
Many elements of this program persist in Greek economic policy. Metaxas' regime also f
ounded the Social Security Institute (IKA) as well as
the Workers' Center, which was established to look after workers' housing and recreation, among other things.
The 4th of August regime also
initially stabilized the drachma, which had been suffering from high inflation. Exploiting the newfound solidity of the currency, Metaxas' government
embarked on large public works programs, including
land drainage, construction of railways, road improvements, and modernization of the telecommunications infrastructure.
Metaxas'
economic program met with initial success, with a
marked rise in per capita income and temporary decline in unemployment in Greece between 1936 and 1938.Metaxas wasn't being supported by a political party like Hitler or Mussolini. He was supported by the army and
his youth EON.Membership
wasn't mandatory but the youth had a
million members in 1939.As you can see the youth adored him and supported his ideology.Metaxas opposed the alliance with the Axis and fought against both Italy and Germany. He prepared the army for war in the blink of an eye.The fight at the Metaxas Line was of epic scale.German General Wilhelm List, who led the attack against the Metaxas Line, admired the bravery and courage of these soldiers. He took no prisoners and declared that the army was free to leave with their war flags, on condition that they surrender their arms and supplies. He also ordered his soldiers and officers to salute the Greek soldiers.Hitler himself said
"For the sake of historical truth I must verify that only the Greeks, of all the adversaries who confronted us, fought with bold courage and highest disregard of death."
Metaxas used violence.Censorship of the media. Certainly. But violence
against only those who wanted to destroy the state. He didn't started a genocide of minorities like Hitler did.In fact there were given political rights to Jews. The only ones who were prosecuted were the communists because they wanted to destroy the state by promoting an anti-Greek ideology and enslave as to Russia. That's why
no one didn't actually care what happened to them. Also the
communists had already done 2 failed coup d'etats. If they have succeeded all
the people who would disobey them would be dead.So it was
either we or they.A matter of survival. They played against the rules. They could have won.Rule the country. But they lost.We won. They knew what the consequences would be.
I'm not against the use of violence.I'm against the use of violence were it isn't needed.I'm certainly against hippies and all this bull crap. Some time in our lives we will use violence.
P.S.Wars nd war crimes happen everywhere in the name of democracy. In democratic societies criminals don't take what they deserve. All this rapist, killers, child molesters should be executed on the spot. But hey, everyone has human rights!!!You criticize authoritarian regimes by associating them with violence and death. Some regimes used unnecessary violence.Of course they did.Take Nazi Germany for example. But sometimes, when it comes to
defend your country,
your familie,
your religion and your ideals you will have to
use any form of violence.I will certainly do that.
If you want to answer first read everything i have written. And don't start with ''violence'', ''killings'' ''you are evil'' like bullshit.Better go watch care bears.
