this is my favorite song right now, idk how many times ive heard this in the last few days, at least over 50. i went and bought this record as soon as i heard it but the band just has so much style. their songs would fit in like a David Lynch movie or something but this song is just great in every way. the lyrics, "I wanna follow through on all my promises and threats to you babe", "I wanna wake, I wanna wake, from hot dreams of you". like i picture riding a horse with your loved one, in like a mountainous range during the sunset. its like dream pop and folk and lounge jazz, like that sauce, yum and it matches this guys crooner like voice well. most of the songs on the album do actually and a lot of people havent heard of them, even people i thought would, which made it a even better surprise
ive always saw music as like painting time and this is definitely a lovely space to be in, it actually distracted me a bit... that refrain is so glorious when the glitchy violin comes in, i love that!! has like this lo-fi hip-hop feel but the backing vocals are like the supremes, wha?? that is so seasick, its just graceful massacre...and then the saxophone at the end is just slay, they put every cool voicing in this song. like this is probably one of the best folk songs ive ever heard, its just so beautiful and inviting, warm, suave, blissful and intoxicating imo. that'll do
