No shit sherlock. Itachi is a double agent whose goal is to spy on akatsuki and to give konoha(including danzo) heads up, not start a war. Obito and hiruzen backs this up. Only a true fool really believes jiraiya who couldn't even beat hanzo with orochi and tsunade as back up be able to take on kisame and itachi. The only thing jiraiya confirmed is that he was strong enough to last long enough until back up came <- and i love how people ignore this important part. Which is why itachi fled with kisame, to prevent casualties.

OT: for me when JJ Madara got cut in half by Sasuke then his upper half causally flies by and rips out Kakashi's Sharingan for himself. My heart sank a little when he did that.

Imo Itachi just said that to Kisame so they wouldn't have to fight and had an excuse not to. Jiraiya is no slouch I just don't see him getting out of Tsukuyomi or getting past Susano'o.

tsuku isn't even needed. there was a major thread on this forum about them fighting and majority believe it would only take stage 2 susanoo and regular genjutsu. (i'll probably link it later) to take down jiraiya.

Eh it's hard to say Jiraiya can probably break it by releasing his chakra. I definitely think Tsukuyomi is needed.

TBH when I was younger I didn't understand how Jman was going to win, against Itachi. Itachi had MS and ama, and SM was not known for him then.
