Exact same boat. Super interesting and likeable character pushed into the background. IMAGINE if we had Shisui's character around to portray the Uchiha Genocide rather than bland characters.

His guilt from gaining his MS was such a nicely written detail, gave the whole kind character an edge of depth and darkness we hadn't considered.

If shisui comes back this series gets a 10/10 from me

Besides his powers and being itachis mentors I really like his personality and I really fell in love with his character playing the ninja storm game with him and could see if he was ever to be in the anime he would have one of the best fight sequences even the filler looked awesome.

Shisui is just a great example of how to do the whole 'Child Prodigy' trope. Look at his speed and powers, he's all kinds of messed up OP-wise...but that's not fetishised and that part of the character was kept under control. Shisui was mad strong but still struggled a lot.

He's kind, likeable, got a lot riding on his shoulders and very flawed. Like his origin story straight-up makes him a terrible prick. But he knows this and is trying to (and succeeds to) redeem himself.

Pretty much everyone affiliated with the sound village and Orochimaru. Couldn't care less about anyone from the leaf or from the other neighboring villages, they're all trash.

Special mention: Akatsuki couples like Itachi/Kisame, Deidara/Tobi, Kakuzu/Hidan.. etc

The Sound 4's bond is slept onnnnnnnnnn. Their teamwork was genuinely great and their character flaws all gelled nicely. Tayuya and Jirobo were a personal favourite.
