thread was ok until you said this. if sasuke didnt investigate and infrom them of a certain threat, then that threat greater than kaguya would eventually appear, catch them off guard and kill everybody but due to sasukes quick thinking and actions, they can be better prepared. he sends valuable intel to naruto who can in turn share them with the village. he wants a better future for everyone and that includes his daughter. trying to make it seem like he wanders just for the sake of it is outright stupidity.
