[Spoilers] Your Captain-Commander Choice

Because the once-thought-unstoppable shinigami Yamato was defeated and killed by Juha Bach, the central 46/Gotei 12 convened and deemed Shunsui Kyoraku as the new Captain-Commander. While he is indeed one of my favorite captains in Soul Society, the thought of his Commandership seems a little hasty and odd. What happened to Ukitake or Toshirou? These two seemed more apt to handling the responsibilities better than someone of a laid-back nature.

This is different than, say, the Narutoverse, because the Hokage has a Jonin Commander to help advise decisions.

The Captain Commander decides all.

So there's my thoughts. Who do you think would make the best Captain-Commander? All 12 Captains, including Yoruichi and Ikkaku, apply. I may or may not post a poll later.

Shinsui was the best, he should be OP too since we haven't seen his bankai yet and he isn't even training.

Shunsui or Ukitake since they are probably the two strongest captains currently. Shunsui may be laid back, but he knows how to be serious when he has to. Ukitake is probably too sickly to be the Commander. Toshiro is too young and not nearly as strong as the other two. My two cents haha

I think they made the right choice choosing Shunsui Kyoraku, its usually the laid back ones that turn out to be the most serious.

Though I have my suspicions about him and Ukitake.

Byakuya is weak compared to Shinsui. He relies too much on his zanpakutou and bankai he is always like:

Well, a lot of captains like Toushiro lost their bankai, so they might no longer be suitable for such a position until they regain power.

He didn't really take on Starrk by himself, it was Starrk vs 2 captains and 2 vizards for a little while....but nonetheless he seems the most capable.

In my opinion, Hitsugaya is still too young, and he lost his bankai to the stern ritters already. As for Ukitake, I can't even recall off the top of my head a time when he's even attended a captain's meeting because of his constant sickness. If I had the freedom to choose anybody in the Bleachverse, it'd be Urahara, since he has brains and power. But if I was to choose from the 11 remaining captains (since Unohana is dead), Yoruichi, and Ikkaku, I'd probably stick with the Shunsui choice with Shinji being a close second choice.

For now, Shunsui is fine. I believe Ukitake was overlooked simply due to the potential that his illness(tuberculosis) could relapse. Though he would have been another viable choice.

I've gone on record, however, as saying that I'd like to have seen Komamura becoming Head Captain/Captain Commander in a couple hundred years due to him sharing the same ideologies as Yamamoto. By that time, he should be strong enough to deserve the position.

Honestly I thought it was going to be Unohana's time to shine.....because we knew outside of Yammamoto, she was the next oldest shinigami, and her power had been seemingly always held back for a reason.

She was definitely calm at all times. And was intelligent enough to see through Aizen's complete hypnosis.


But sadly Kubo trolled her....personality and story.

Originally depicted as smart, talented, and gentle/kind and then all the sudden she's basically Zaraki. Is said to have sword mastery....fights just like Zaraki (no sword style). When she was declared a Kenpachi I honestly thought she was going to be what Kenpachi could have been. A powerful and talented monster, but one who focused directly on the fight and not getting high off of fighting.

Basically just becoming elegance on the battlefield....but nope

Kubo went from saying she'd engage the enemy into she'd be put into a death match with plot protected Zaraki....because they needed him to kill Sternritter when he was the only one actually killing Sternritter...virtually making (at that time) their strongest and about third strongest people kill each other to power up number three.

Was pretty retardes to sacrifice your pieces like that.

So o guess after Kubo was done with Unohana's character 180....Shunsui or Jushiro was all who remained that qualified.

And Shunsui was always shown to be closer so be fits.

Kyoraku was the best choice.

It was logically between either Kyoraku, Ukitake, or Unohana. Seeing as Ukitake is always ill and Unohana is dead I don't see any alternative. Hitsugaya is no where near experienced enough to be able to take the Captain Commander position. He's been a Captain for no more than 20 years.

We already saw the kind of leadership qualities Kyoraku has when he lifted everyone's spirits up after Yamamoto died. He's smart, wise, and currently one of the strongest Shinigami around. There's also the fact that he was Yamamoto's student so that fits perfectly.

OT: Shunsui was a viable option considering that people like Kenpachi and Mayuri were too crazy to lead, and the three visored were too new to be trusted as Captain-Commander. Also, Byakuya and Sajin Komamura would've also been viable options had they not gotten their bankai stolen

Ginrei Kuchiki would have been a wise decision, even though he retired I'm sure he would have accepted the role of captain commander. He served alongside Yamamoto for a long period of time and he was (probably) one of the most powerful captains at the time during Turn Back the Pendulum. When Yamamoto was testing Urahara's potential to become a captain he had Unohana and Ginrei with him at the time (Unohana was one of the best captains at the time). Who knows how long he served in the Gotei? He trained Byakuya and he seemed to be extremely wise in the teachings he gave. I personally think he would have made a better Captain Commander than Kyoraku. Plus the 8th Division is looking pretty screwed over as there's no captain and no lieutenant, can't afford absent seats at a time like this.

On a side note, I also think it would have been a fantastic addition to Bleach as we could finally learn more about Ginrei; his abilities, Shikai, Bankai, past, relationship with Yamamoto etc.

Shinsui was the best choice coz even though he's laid back he does have an analytic mind and isn't hasty as compared to most other captains. Had Sasakibe not been killed I believe he was next in line and its such a shame that he died never had been a captain while apparently he could have top 5 or maybe even 3.Sasakibe and Unohana were difnetly trolled yo.
Byakuya wuld be good choice after 500yrs or so or after he learned some humility.

Hitsuguya is too weak and too rash to be captain commander. Kisuke Urahara for Captain Commander!
