He was only part of Obito for a short while and that was during his rehabilitation. We saw him once again during the War Arc, but that was only briefly and he had no attachment to Obito.

That leads to the question as to what major role would he plays in Boruto?

The Shinju plotline is still not over (The Last Movie, Boruto Movie are extensions on that plotline). The Fourth Databook has hinted to Spiral Zetsu being the Shell of the Shinju : (Manga also supports this).

The theory to his survival is that Spiral Zetsu absorbed the remnants of the Shinju in the Fourth Shinobi World War and became complete again. This could prep up Spiral Zetsu as the next villain of the Boruto Manga.

Not that I support the Tobidara theory but it's possible that Spiral Zetsu could turn out to be Tobidara, after all Madara's body is free for the taking by Spiral Zetsu. minamoto's theory could ironically come true if Kishi wants it. As a plot piece Spiral Zetsu being a villain has potential. :th:

So did you intentionally ignore my post? I do remember that theory where Sprial was the chakra fruits shell or something.

Oh I did forget to quote it but It actually supports the theory rather than contradicting it.

Trunk Shinju (Lower half of Shinju) was never sealed cause Yin and Yang seals were gone before that.

Shinju starts retreating.

Spiral Zetsu starts unraveling.

Subsequent panels show that the Shinju has disappeared without a trace.

Considering that the Shinju was not sealed nor can it be killed where did it disappear ?

Answer : Spiral Zetsu absorbed the Shinju and escaped underground. :th:

I expect it to be an underwhelming story with an underwhelming plot theme and characters.

I mean seriously what can they do? Unless They spend a good amount of time character building the new cast nothing they do with them is gonna have any significant connection to the audience.

The characters are the key if they don't get them right it's gonna blow.

Yeah, the manga supports it: (Although, I'm unsure about the databooks take on it)

[BOLD] However, I don't believe that because I'm do not want a "copy-cat Tobi 2.0" and that it how I see it.

Anyway, I'm expecting them to push away from the "Kaguya Army" narrative because as they venture into an "alien" theme, it ruins the "ninja" theme we love about Naruto.

I doubt the Tobi thing is still over though. :th:

Unfortunately the Ninja Theme came from the Shinju Theme so the story will now on only focus on that theme as it is now the base of the story. The conclusion of the Shinju theme will mark the real end of Naruto. :th:

I'm not excepting for a main villain though, at least, one that will be weak enough to be beaten by the new generation.

The problem with Naruto is that all these Rikudo-chakra powered perfect Susanoos vs Rikudo Sage Mode Kuramas on a continental scan ended up pretty boring, un-ninja like and were just gradually more and more over-the-top, there's nothing wrong with being over the top as **** (JoJo, Gurren Lagann, maybe even Toriko) but there was something about part 1 stressing the fights of Ninja, strategy and guile, and part 2 finishing with Megazords, planet busters and space-warping kicks.

TL;DR : A story on the new generation, not which Susanoo is the biggest or which Rikudo Chakra is superior.

None, I don't like the new generation, just typical anime cornfest.

A logical assumption but there are a few solid hints which show that he survived. :th:

The shinju disappeared? I don't remember that. well, in the Boruto movie, kinshiki said the shinju was cut down. That implies they were at the Shinju site or at least looked there with their byakugan.

Well, I expect it to be on the same sh!t-level as "Naruto Gaiden", "the Last" and "Boruto the movie". But whatever, I won't read it anyway. I'm only curious about the Mitsuki-chapters.
