I've been thinking about this whole war and yeah basically that phrase is bullshit. I mean just look at it from the perspective of hokages in my opinion from a power standpoint all of them are worse than the previous. Actually maybe minato surpasses my lord and saviour prime hiruzen but everyone else is worse. I mean look at the contribution to the war tsunade was garbage to be honest ahahahah damn it was so sad seeing how little of a difference she made. That phrase really only applies to Naruto and sasuke but all the other current generations are muchh worse than the older guys. I have sympathies for shikamarus team though i think they are better than the previous ino shika chou but seriously f**k all the other guys. Tsunade worst hokage,sakura hasn't surpassed tsunade hinata isn't the strongest hyuuga etc i know they are young but its like damnn kisgi

That statement is meant as a whole, not on an individual basis. I guarantee the Chuunin of this generation could demolish the chuunin of the first war period.

I mean, look at current shinobi alliance. The K11 shit on almost 99% of the shinobi world.
