with that being said we see their fathers throwing the kurenai only to fail having them deflected with something as simple as a rock:

Wow that's an even huger leap in logic than the OP took. Just because the defected kunai not even aimed at them doesn't mean they were stronger than their fathers at that point. Certainly doesn't mean they could have soled their respective families. All the OP proves is their fathers recognized their incredible potential.
