Obito's plot shield is bigger than the MC's plot shield. He survived situations that he shouldn't have. But kishimoto had to let him live longer because he is the best choice for main villain in this series since he is the only one that goes against naruto's ideals, naruto's suffering and becoming a jinchuriki was because of him, he is a naruto gone wrong. But yeah kakashi not using raikiri was kinda dumb, even if it wouldn't have killed him in the first place kakashi should have used a chidori or something else there.
