Ladies and gentlemen! And whatever else you guys are. I'm here to announce the first Narutobase Tourney of 2014! :hooray::hooray::hooray:
This will be a tournament consisting of character versus matches and most likely, some discussion based debates as well. To those of you who knew about the last tourney I was involved in, it will be very similar to that one. The tournament will last up to 5-6 weeks and will be held in a group where only the members of the group will be allowed to discuss within the group but it will be viewable to the public i.e, the rest of NB. I had hoped that it could be held in the V.S coliseum but, the admins prefer we not do so for their understandable reasons. I will choose to comply with this because the last time I was involved, the debate tourney was abruptly dismissed.
Now! Here's how it works, I can only take 32 contestants (Well technically 31 because Uzumaki Naruto will be debating). If you look
So! Since I can only take 32 contestants, it's first come, first serve. If you wish to debate, say that you would like to take part and I'll write your name down somewhere safe. These names will be taken down, added to the group in question and will be our lucky participants for the 2014 Debate Tourney. This group will also contain all the rules for the tourney after a couple of days at most. If you end up signing up after the first 32, you will be listed as an alternate. An alternate may come into play in case one of our 32 members either don't respond after a few days, is trolling and not taking the debate for what it is, or if one of the members get banned. Should you get banned while in the tourney, you are automatically DQ'd. So my advice, please don't sign up for this tourney if you don't plan on committing as I and Uzumaki Naruto do plan on making this tournament last to its fullest extent. The two of us are kinda taking this seriously and we really hope you guys will too. Alternates will also be added to the group.
I'll say this now, do not try PM'ing or VM'ing me or Uzumaki Naruto for a spot in this tourney. You can only sign up in the thread, I'll be sure to keep this thread in my sig for anyone to access easily.
Now a tournament isn't a tournament without prizes don't you think? Well I feel the same Lol. So, there will be an award for 1st-3rd places only. So here are the prizes:
Pretty simple eh? Lol Of course bragging rights come with these prizes as well and it will be provided by the committee of those who wish to help make the tourney happen. 1st place is taken care already, can I get some volunteers for the other two prizes? Obviously, me and Uzumaki Naruto can't do this alone so we're gonna need some help. The main thing that the two of us require are judges. As of now there are only have 3.

I could really use more credible, unbiased judges. If you do want to be a judge, please say you want to be in this thread but note: This tournament pretty much depends on the judges. Without committed, unbiased judges, I can't pull this tourney off so please only volunteer if you're willing to commit. I will need a minimum of 8 judges but I'm definitely willing to take more. All judges will also be added to the group and a separate group will be made for judges only. Also, if I can get a designated group maker, that would be great.
P.S: If you're wondering why we've chosen to host a debate tourney now, it's because we feel like NB has gotten lackluster to some of you guys. We hope that this tourney can not only bring some life back to NB but show you guys what real debates and discussion looks like rather than the usual troll threads. Think of it as enlightenment :yeah: I was thinking of naming this tournament Kami's Enlightenment but that might be a little too much so we'll probably go with

, you'll see that these brackets can only be done in powers of 2 (2,4,8,16,32,64, etc) as that's the only way the brackets will match up evenly. Now if we (Uzumaki Naruto and myself) happen to receive 64 contestants, the tournament will extend by one week and then it all works out, but I doubt this will be the case.
