I wanted to say that layered haircuts like that are the closest we can get in real-life to Madara's. Also, they do look nice when you have a lot of hair and it's wavy and thick, except of course it needs to be cut in a proper way.

I've had long hair and that was a nightmare trying to deal with it. I give mad props to girls when they have butt length hair. The amount of time needed to take care of that. Lol
