I believe that technically, MS awakens from murdering one's best friend. Like Itachi was probably forced by Shisui to push him off the cliff, and like Naruto and Sasuke are best friends. So in order for Obito to awaken his, he would have had to kill Kakashi, not Rin!

We have already seen alternate ways for MS to awaken, in Sasuke's case it could have been two things:
1. The emotional holocaust in his head from learning the truth! Or..
2. My belief: It was awakened for Sasuke by Itachi, when Itachi planted that Amaterasu in him, just in case he was approached by Tobi.

In Kakashi's case, I am almost positive that it was also thanks to Itachi. When Kakashi got caught in Tsukuyomi and was tortured for 72 hours, it was enough to bring down a bombardment of mental trauma.

Just like Kakashi said when he woke up a week after it happened, "he could have easily killed me in there, so why didnt he?"
Itachi has a way of helping his Village and his Brother any which way he can.

The following theory implies the possibility that Madara has taken over Obito's body.....
As for Tobi/Obito/Madara: I dont think Madara would have any problem getting around the pre-requisite either. Someone with the type of knowledge that he possesses, he could have easily bent the rules to awakening MS, especially since it is not his MS, just like Kakashi did or had it done for him.

Any way these have been my thoughts ever since these things happened, I thought everyone would see it that way to but I was wrong, people on NB have a very wild imagination!

Again no sense here. In Kakashi's case how could he awaken MS if he was the one about to be killed? As YOU said to awaken MS, one has to do the killing and guess what. Kakashi and Itachi are far from fiends not to mention best friends. Itachi only did his actions for his brother and no one else.

Secondly why would Madara want to possess a boy where the left side of his body is TOTALLY DESTROYED, how would he have known that Obito was under a rock, and even worse how could Madara know possession type jutsus that only a scientist like Orichimaru can perform :shrug::flaw: My friend the series isn't making sense because Kishi no longer is making sense
