We won't really know what happened unless we have access to the plane's black box. It is possible that the disruption to the plane's radar may have been tampered with at a certain point to avoid any pinpointing.

It would seem impossible that a huge plane that was detectable on radar suddenly vanish all of a sudden and yet people could still reach the phones of those on that particular flight, authorities are still looking to find out what happened to the Boeing 777 and hoping that everyone on that flight are still alright. Okay, reports say that their still able to contact passengers. With that, the fact comes to mind that their still on Earth. You need Telephone Lines to contact someone via phone. You wouldn't be able to do that in another dimension, or on a space shiip (in space). If they really can contact passengers, then what are they saying? They must be telling them something! If not, then this is just a rumor. This "rumor" is very necessary before a full investigation can commence.
They're not contacting them. The passengers don't answer their calls, even though the phone rings. Their phones work! If the plane crashed into the water, the water would have damaged the phones. Yet the families and friends can call the passengers and the line works just fine, even if the passengers don't answer. The thing that bugs everyone the most is that there was no debris found, no signals of plane crashes, no nothing. It just vanished in thin air, for god's sake. If the pilots knew they had problems with the plane, why didn't they send distress calls?
This is serious, don't take it as a joke. 237 people are in danger now, if not, god, if they're not gone already.

This can be multiple things.
A terrorist attack that crashed the plain.
A random plain wreck.
Abducted by aliens.
The travel into a different dimension or even a different time period as in the future.
Either way, a lot of people are either dead, in danger, or experiencing something crazy. I hope they are okay.
Personally, I hope it's some kind of dimension thing.
