[Discussion] You can have Susanoo activated without having MS or EMS turned on

In the first picture Itachi is almost blind hence why his eyes are bland. Madara is the only one to achieve Rinnegan via progression of EMS so we can only conclude getting Rinnegan this way will allow the user to possess EMS techniques and Rinnegan techniques at the same time.

In all cases where Susanno was used, the user had their MS/EMS activated prior to using Susanno.



For Itachi, he had his MS active when he used Susanno. It's just that afterwards his eyesight was deteriorating so that's why his eyes appear white.

For Madara, he had his EMS active when he used Susanno:

Then afterwards when Naruto used his Rasenshuriken he switched to the Rinnegan:

Then why did Sasuke Susanoo start to vanish the moment he felt blindness?

sasuke was running on rage at that moment, he felt blindness and his flow got stunned, in effect he lost control to hold up susanoo. itachi on the other hand, was able to fire up his susanoo although he was blind as a bat.
let me explain it better: its as if susanoo requires concentration; sasukes concentration got knocked when he experienced blindness for the first time(only natural), itachi had no surprise(he knew what he was doing etc), hence him keeping his susanoo up.

Well, I can only assume he can because thus far he is the only person to unlock Rinnegan this way and he has been able to use another EMS technique (Susanoo) without deactivating his Rinnegan. So logically I presume he can use Amaterasu aswell (whilst maintaining his Rinnegan form).
