I merely pointed out that somethings do not have yes or no answer.

I am not even going there. I have seen a lot of different faces of it in Indian history. So I know there are many sides.

I never question that. I think their way is the one which will get a solution for all parties to live in peace. Don't confuse me with the other guy you are having a walli war with. I just don't think much of denying any responsibility by the other party when it's clear both act in the same way.

I am aware. We had seen some of the worst of them too. Portuguese were here longer than British. Did I even question this part?

The concept is accepted and that's what matters in the end. I am aware of Dar ul Aman too.

Why are you telling me things which I said myself?

Yeah that derails the dialogue even before it starts.

I just want everyone to leave other nations alone if they are not causing problem for others and are able to provide basic human rights to their citizens.

I don't even watch such things all that much. And yea. Every culture has issues, that's why we should address our own problems too instead of blaming only the rest of the world.

Why would you even bring them up.. it's counter productive to what you were trying to establish...

I know about the reputation of gypsies but thousand years ago India was yet more flourishing country than any European one for a population to move there for better living.

If anything we still have a similar tribe here- Banjara ( some of them known as Nat) as they are called locally. British promptly made a list of communities whom they classed as criminal tribes and added them to it in 1871(repealed in 1952).

After this many generation the ones you have don't even have that much Indian blood in them as they mixed from many other European countries. By the accounts I hear they probably attracted the most backward, deprived homeless, wandering people from all of the nations they lived in as they grew in number.

I didn't say Islam the reiligion is the biggest threat. But did you just compare the threat from armed extremists of that back ground with a groups of people which are product of racist discrimination of European nation and don't really have any personal political agenda as a community to impose a new social order on you in which you will turn into a second class citizen?

If there is any connection with India they became slaves and were sold and that's how they ended up there...

As I said bringing them up is counter productive...Anyway..

I doubt you will lose majority. Chances of having more mixed people are higher though I can understand if it scares you. You are worried because they are 10%... we have 25% Muslims you know.. You shouldn't have brought this up..Luckily we are not that paranoid here.

It's only the best as it gives everyone at least some chance to get in power more or less and thus reduces that conflict to an extent, and because you can kick out an incompetent leader out of power at one point without having to shoot them.

Haha whenever someone mentions something about Indians in a negative connotation, you get mad, but when someone bashes muslims, you don't close the thread- like this one. Leave me alone. I didn't say gypsies or Indians are bad people or anything like that. I just mentioned a simple fact. Have a nice day.

Aim@ if you wanna continue, pm me.

At least four Muslims who are familiar with Islamic tradition and rulings have debated Aim64C.

If an individual chooses to ignore information let them be, those debating are only creating more space for the individual to dig their own embarrassment.

And Kobak, thanks for preaching objectivity. ;) And YowYan, you've been good as well.

On some random news, today at my university someone converted to Islam amongst all the anti-terror/ Islamic laws occuring in Australia. It was a welcome surprise to us Muslims as well. It all starts with wishing each other peace.

Wow! So it came down to this? Side stepping the issue and making personal attack? I didn't bring this topic up. I didn't give it this direction. I tried my best to keep my post to the point and yet respectful.

You just lost all the context... I replied your post and I am not the one losing the temper here.

Being left alone is easy. Do not post. ^^

Edit : You edited your post:

Nor I said you did. You brought up a problem and made an analogy. I posted why that analogy fails. Simple fact.

You too.

I am not exactly sure if that's true, since I made a thread yesterday about an "ISIS sympathiser" stabbing some police officers in Melbourne,Australia(and subsequently getting shot dead) yet the thread got deleted inexplicably. I would understand that the material may be too sensitive for some, but it not unlike this thread. U_U

My knowledge of Islam is very poor, so I'm not going to front. People place too much importance over having an opinion anyways. It seems "I don't know" has become synonymous with "I'm stupid".To me it's a matter of which is more wise: believing in a false opinion or having no opinion at all.

The former almost always seems to delve itself into beliefs and even attitudes towards people. And of course, the latter can lead toward inaction when action is crucial. The truth should be anyone's top priority when considering to tackle a subject.

From what I've been reading, it seems painfully obvious that in order for ISIS to be the real Islam, two things would have to be established as fact: 1) God doesn't allow altering of the Quran and 2) The Quran cannot be interpreted other than for what it is.

It seems this is your (Aim's) foundation, so it's understandable why you wouldn't concede to counterarguments so easily. It'd only take one of these two to be disproved for the argument to fall. If the Quran cannot be altered, then there's only one true Islam (meaning the more peaceful Muslims aren't necessarily following a false Islam). And if it's not up for interpretation, then there's no way it can be interpreted incorrectly.

Of course, you may call it subjective, but I've been waiting to see a good reason on why the peaceful verses Kobak presented doesn't matter. Also, exactly why the possibility of wrong translations isn't a factor either. The argument that the words doesn't change the effective meaning just doesn't seem reasonable (i.e. Ashlfura's mention of the addition of the "ka"). I mean, we even both read Naruto lol, and sometimes the translations are way off. Hmmm remember when Hagoromo and his brother was supposed to have sealed the the juubi within themselves? According to translators, it was because the character could mean "I" or "we"... or something like that. True, the juubi was sealed, and that message was clear. But... if I was to consider the possibility of multiple incorrect translations?

If you were going through the articles presented and saying "this character actually means this", then I may say, "okay this guy may know what he's talking about", but it seems fishy when you say the proper translations is irrelevant.

So, my last question on this matter is isn't more reasonable (not to mention convincing) to argue the correct translation of a character/word than to argue the incorrect translations doesn't matter?

As for the Muslims in this thread, I will say though that I haven't seen a convincing argument justifying or explaining Mohammed's deeds and why the believers shouldn't follow them (most never even touched this subject - and I don't even know what all Mohammad did, but sometimes it can say a lot when people shy away from certain points). That is if of course, if what Aim says about the believers having to follow Mohammad's ways without question is true.

Though I suppose I could just google this and see what I find...
