If I'm not mistaken DBZ was suppose to end somewhere after the Frieza Saga but they wanted it to keep going since it was popular

there was nothing wrong with the fullbringer arc it was to depressing to just end on ichigo losing his powers like that if you can think of a more relevant arc for ichigo getting his powers back then be my guest, the fullbringer arc made perfect sense, it wasnt to over the top and it was enjoyable for what it was, and it cleared up a few things from the aizen arc.
