Yata's weakness

I was thinking, the Yata mirror has to have a weakness, perhaps it requires the person who uses it to put in as much chakra, as the used in the opposing jutsu. If I am correct, then the Yata mirror will be useless against very chakra taxing jutsus. And since Kirin is natural energy and was guided by the Chidori, I think that Itachi just put in chakra for the Chidori, because he lacks the reserves for Kirin itself. Your opinion?

Actually in all honesty it does look like the Yata Mirror expands. In the scans where Itachi faces Sasuke you can see with certain attacks that it expands over even Susanoo to protect Itachi. I think the scan where Orochimaru comes out of Sasuke and attacks Itachi with the Snake Hydra is where you can see the Yata Mirror expanding

You still haven't shown me Yata's blocking an attack from a different angle.

The weakness is that as far as we know it needs to be wielded by Sasunoo, if the user cannot summon Sasunoo, then they cannot use this weapon, even though its a different and seperate tech from Sasunoo. It can also be useless, think Gaara vs Madara.

Unfortunately we wont know if it can cover an entire area but with the blocking range of Susanoo it will protect Itachi. Now as for any other user? It depends. Because if it can expand to be able to cover Susanoo then one could argue that it can shrink to fit a user without Susanoo. If it can shrink and expand then it should cover the entire area
