NB is stagnating in terms of member count. As no new members join, we are left with old term members who have a lot of rep points and consequently a lot of rep power. There is a stupid limit on the rep system where you need to rep X amount of people before you can rep the person you previously repped again.

Now let's say I repped your post now, I won't be able to rep you again till I rep X amount of people. This means if I want to rep you again, I will be forced to give free reps to other people without any reasons whatsoever. People just randomly rep and leave they just don't want to bother giving negs as it's none of thier bussiness. The high rep power accumulated over time and people being forced to give free reps is what leads to Trolls getting high rep points.

I checked the FAQ's you get three bars at 300-500 rep points and that number is not a high target because of above two reasons.

Also the alt method is stupid, an alt has 1 or something rep power, with the above limit on the rep system, it will take a huge amount of time and effort to even reach three bars. But if you are getting free rep then the three bars can be obtained easily.

Yes people really don't care they just want to bypass the rep limit that's all. They would consider Troll threads as Comedy Threads and give a pos rep. I mean I also sometimes randomly spam rep. :sdo:

Another reason could be that pos rep can be given without a reason, which means you can spam them easily.

On the other hand neg rep requires a reason before it can be given. This means you can't spam negs efficiently + If your rep comment is wonky, you might get reported and infracted.

The alt method won't work, it will be a huge waste of time unless you form rep gangs.
