The time is probably decreased according to the power level of the attacks that hit the mirror since Itachi needs to use more chakra to block it.

So, he might be able to block 1 TBB then his Susano'o goes down? Just a thought.

Well actually the only time the Susano'o lasts any shorter is if the user has to repair it but as the Yata Mirror itself blocks the attack anyway and don't get destroyed at all the user should be able to keep Susano'o up for the full length as he doesn't need to use chakra or strain his eye's by repairing the Susano'o and so on.

Actually the shield itself doesn't take up chakra. Susanoo takes up the chakra.

The scan shows it extending well above its head and its sides for a simple explosion. It has already displayed its ability to change shape according to an attack so you can't deny it. Simple as that.

Listen people, the shield can enduer many attacks probably, but not all of them. Think about the juubi. It's bijuu dama destroyed a village. It's last attack was close to be an atomic bomb. Madara's meteor is also devastating. These atacks are proably strong enough to destroy the shield's defense. When zetsu said it can block all attacks, it could be an hyperbole, or it could mean that the shield can block any attack that it ever faced. So sometimes we can't take statements like these too serious.

The TBB only is a 360 attack if it explodes, it's not like it's coming from every direction and as it don't explode because of Yata Mirror then it's not a 360 attack.



As this sound is an attack of some sort the Yata Mirror would change it's attributes into whatever is needed to block out sound. Even if it was the material of a soundproof wall it will so it can block it out.

Just like Sasunoo which was hard to maintain being the "ultimate defense" failed to sound. "Every Jutsu has a weakness" quoted by Itachi, keep that in mind. As I said, sound is seen as the only counter, in theory. Only reason I say theory is because Itachi never activated it in battle against Kabuto or a Sound User. Not only that, but Yata mirror is only seen with conjunction with Sasunoo.

Actually I don't care what people think of me by saying this, it doesn't make me and Itachi fanboy at all seeing as the Yata Mirror isn't Itachi... the Yata Mirror can block even a Juubi TBB, it's a spiritual weapon and most likely used by the Sage and that's maybe why he could block the Juubi's TBB and so on. The Yata Mirror blocks all attacks as it changes it's attributes into whatever is needed to block the incoming attack and so you can't get past it.

When its backed by the databook as well, im inclined to believe it

according to what we've been shown, yata would still be standing after those attacks, sure the terrain around them might be obliterated, but theres nothing stating that yata mirror can take damage. It doesnt even flinch when struck by an attack..

Yata Mirror isn't a Jutsu though... it's a piece of equipment with special properties. If the sound that's coming towards the Yata Mirror is an attack then the Yata Mirror will change it's properties into anything that can block out sound. So no Yata Mirror does block out sound if it's an attack.

Well considering Susano'o itself is very defensive he wouldn't need Yata Mirror for anything but things that can actually destroy the Susano'o so that's probably why he has only been seen to use it against an attack as powerful as Kirin.

Read the thread, the Yata Mirror itself changes it's attributes to whatever is needed to block the incoming attack, no matter what any attack thrown at Yata Mirror is unable to break it as it's changed it's attributes to negate the incoming attack.
