ya we know that yata mirror tanks TBB or what ever attacks but it cant protect itachi from the impact force.

according to newton's third law of motion. every action has an equal and opposite reaction force
Hence the amount of force that yata deflects = amount of recoil or impulse force that susanoo has to absorb
Itachi has only used yata to deflect hydra's collison force and may be kirin force. but energy in the magnitude of TBB can't be handled by yata and susanoo holding it.

If yata defend against TBB blast impact then yata needs a very strong susanoo arm to hold it steady.

for eg if you give a shield to a child , then that shield can obviously defend against a sword attack. but if you strike the sword in high impact with the shield then the child can't cant absorb the shock wave of collison.

yes similarly yata mirror can defend against TBB but the impact force and shock wave will overpower susanoo and itachi's holding capacity. we all know itachi is weak and sick hence he doesnt have enough stamina to hold his ground using susanoo and yata to defend against TBB impact.

only EMS madara , ems sasuke has enough strength to hold on and tank TBB not itachi.

yata doesnt absorbs energy it only deflects. you can see after hydra collided with yata, susanoo had to move a bit back
