Hagoromo had owned a set of ninja weapons called "treasured tools of the sage of the six paths". Which tenten had in her possession before succumbing to infinite tskuyomi, and quite possibly going to be wielded by naruto very soon.
Naruto is the master of talk no jutsu, and Kohaku no Jōhei (brown pot) and Benihisago (brown gaara looking gourd) are speech based weapons.
Haruma (hagoromo's brother) could have owned/created his own ninja weapons, yata mirror and sword of totsuka. Itachi could of passed them onto sasuke like how he passed amaterasu onto him. This parallel would make naruto and sasuke fighting kaguya more believable.
