Yamato wins high diff even if Kimimaro is Healthy
Yamatos defense varies from defensive wood(which is most likely to delay time, since it is seen pierced with even lower piercing skills than Kimimaro's) to wood traps(as seen in the filler episodes, but since Kimimaro is fast enough to avoid them, I would say that that wouldn't work either I'm afraid).
You see the thing about Kimimaro's fighting style is that he always first performs his weaker attacks and then slowly "goes up", so I would say that Yamato could create a clone of himself to delay time, then just ready one of his stronger attacks(since most of his stronger attacks take time), Wood Release: Great Forest Technique would be a good start, to give him the field advantage and prevent Kimimaro from creating a "forest of bones" himself. So, in the end, even with the given distance.
