~Yamato, in his Anbu outfit, sits on the ground with his two katanas laying against the tree a few feet behind him. He sits in the shade from the tree as he awaits Greed to arrive~

Greed Kiyoshi walks towards you with four katanas and stands in front of you.

"Well well, my first kenjutsu student. Lets make senpai Keo happy. Tell me what you know about kenjutsu? You can use anything for help as long as you use your own words and understands it."

Well, Kenjutsu is basically, sword fighting. Usually in the manga, people will infused large amount of chakra into their blades to increase the cutting power, speed, and durability of their blade.

Erm, there are man masters of the sword, and in the manga, it seems as though all Samurai are swordsmen. Mifune would most definitely be the most talented user of Kenjutsu and has defeated Legendary Ninja using his sword alone.

Kenjutsu is not just a way of battle, it is an art form. Something that not many people are actually experts at, here at the base. Some of the best sword fighters on the base would be, Cali, Izuna, Keo, Izuna, Musa, Zen, and a few others. Erm, that's about it. o.o"

Don`t forget about me :T_T:

Good now here

*throws you a katana*

Now we will start training. Now lets do some slashes. But first off, have you ever learned any kind of kenjutsu? Like Bleach
~Grabs Katana~

"I did some basic Sword Training in the Bleach RP back in december with Akiza. Not much, plus it was a while ago."

So you did all the slashes, if you did that basics. Well now we will review over this then just to start this training off. Describe to me how to do do the following below. Also how to avoid, guard and dodge them. Don`t worry about messing up, I`ll correct whatever you mess up on. Just try at less.

*Stabs/Lunges
*Vertical Slashes
*Horizonal Slashes
*Diagonal Slashes

I'll try. =\

Stab/Lunge
~Yamato quickly grips tightly onto the Katana with his left hand. He then outstretches his arm in front of him. As he moves his arm, he quickly steps out forwards using his left foot. Using his weight to guide him, he quickly slices his blade through the air, as he keeps his weight off his heels to be better prepared for any (imaginary)counterattack~

Vertical Slash
~Yamato quickly grips the katana with body hands as he quickly raises it over his head. Then using great strength, he slashes downwards, slicing through the air as he keeps an eye on his (imaginary)opponent~
[That can also be done the opposite way, with going from bottom to top]

Horizontal Slash
~Yamato quickly grips the katana with both hands as he brings the katana across to the left side. He quickly brings the katana across in front of him, slicing through the air as is goes from left to right~
[Can also be done the opposite way, right to left]

Diagonal Slash
~Yamato quickly tightly grips the katana with both his hands, as he quickly brings the katana upwards and towards the left. He then brings the sword downwards and towards the right, in a diagonal motion. When the movement is finished, the katana ends up towards his lower right. If there was an opponent in front of him, the katana would have sliced through his right(my left) shoulder in a diagonal motion to the left(my right) part of his hip~

That's what I remember from it. Not really good. xd

Good by my book well lets see how you guard, avoid or dodge these slashes.

I throw two of the katanas on the ground. Just holding one in my right hand.

Vertical Slash: I bring my katana up and runs at you. I bring the katana above my hand and brings it straight down on your head trying to split you in half.

Diagonal Slash: I bring the katana up and runs at you. I bring the katana up to my right shoulder and sends it left down(diagonal left downward) cutting through you from your left shoulder to your right hip.

Horizonal Slash: I bring the katana up and runs at you. I bring the katana to my right and swings it to my left slashing through your left rib cage to your right rib cage.

Slash/Lungs: I bring the katana up and runs at you. I step towards you bringing the katana`s tip straight towards your heart going through.

~As you begin to run at me, and I see you raise your Katana abouve your head, I quickly grip my katana with both hands and bring it over to my right. As you come in range, I quickly perform a horizontal slash and hit your blade as it comes down. The impact knocking the blade over to my left side, keeping me out of direct danger of your sword~

~As you run at me and I see the position of the katana, I quickly hold my blade in my left hand as I run right at you. As you come in range, I quickly bring my sword across my body, and then swing outwards, performing a horizontal slash from right to left as you attempt to slice at my shoulder. The blade hitting and intercepting your blade, knocking it aside as I step towards you, getting past your guard~

~As I see you holding your blade in the manner needed for a horizontal strike, I quickly grip my sword with both hands, as I bring it upwards and to my right as I run towards you. As you come in range and start to slice towards my ribs, I quickly bring the sowrd down in a diagonal slash that goes from my upper right to my lower left. The blade hitting, intercepting, and knocking your sword aside and away from my left rib. Stopping the blow~

~As I see you running towards me I quickly bring my sword over to my left. Then as you attempt to lunge at me, I quickly side step to my left, as I bring my sword over to the right, my sword hitting yours as you attempt to react from my side step~

That's what you wanted, right? xd

Now lets see can you dodge them without using your sword to block them. This should be easier then blocking with your sword. Use the same situation I posted above your last post.
Vertical:
As soon as the sword comes down, I quickly side step to the left, dodging the sword completely.

Diagonal:
As soon as the sword comes across, I quickly step back from you and a lean my upper body back and to the left, the sword missing me as I dodge it.

Horizontal:
As the sword comes across, I quickly duck down, the sword going completely over my head.

Lunge:
As the sword is lunged at me, I quickly side step to the right, the sword missing me.

Like that? o_O"

Excellent. ^_^

Just a few extras for sake of coverage: A method called half-stepping (which is similar to sidestepping) can be used to dodge virtually everyone of these strikes. Half-stepping involves small, quick movements that allow you to dodge a strike and then go immediately on the offensive, since the small movement you made allows the opponents blade to dodge, and you've already moved back to your previous position before their blade has gone far enough for them to try and redirect it to either attack you again or try and counter you.

An example of this would be if that the opponent slashed at me with a diagonal slash that would first make contact with my right shoulder, I turn my body to the right (as if pivoting) to allow the blade to sail past me. I then can counter attack, and there would be very little they could do - they would have to attempt to dodge, but because of their momentum being devoted to their attack, it may be difficult for them to do so.

Do you understand the above?

If so, then we will move on to the next step - I will attack you with various strikes, and I want you to dodge them.

Alright, and something I forgot to say: Half-stepping must be timed exactly and perfectly on both your movements away and back. If you don't do this, you will move to late, and be struck - move to early, and you give the opponent time to react. Half-stepping, while a great method of dodging, takesperfect execution. Naturally, an Uchiha or someone of the sort would have an easier time half-stepping and reacting to some half-stepping their blow. Now, let us begin, remember, just dodge.

I stand with my katana in my right hand with the tip facing you so I`m holding it like if we was fencing. I run at you with the katana still in the same position. With a flick of my wrist the katana goes down as I`m getting close to you. When I get close, I flick my wrist to the left and brings the katana up doing a diagonal slash at the same time punching you in the face.
