I was wondering what Yahiko would've been like if he hadn't died that day in the rain. What kind of affect would he have on the ninja world since he didn't die, or how strong of a ninja he would be by himself and not as Pain. Considering Konan herself was pretty resourceful and powerful I think it'd be safe to assume that Yahiko would've grown to be a powerful ninja.

If Hanzo hadn't killed him, Obito would have. His death was decided the moment Nagato got the Rinnegan.

Madara's Project Tsuki no me would be completely derailed. And maybe, Jiraiya could meet up with his former students without having to die. =D

Yahiko was an excellent ninja though he probably would not be as strong as Nagato due to not having the Rinnegan.

*Hanzo. But yea you do have a point, but hey imagine them three fighting against Obito together, and (all plot reasons aside) since Konan almost killed Obito herself imagine what a man with the rinnegan and a very advanced water style user (Yahiko) could do

He could have been a great shinobi. Good ninjutsu and taijutsu user.

Both Hanzo and Danzo are at fault. Hanzo was too easily manipulated and paranoid. This made it easy for Danzo to manipulate him. Danzo was the catalyst, Hanzo was the reaction, Pain was the result.
