[Discussion] Y u so short Manga?

Well, Naruto is the first manga I've ever read. I've began reading after the Edo-Itachi/Edo-Nagato fight against Naruto and Killer-B in the anime.
Ever since, I read the entire war arc in a row until finished 5 weeks ago. And then I'm now following it's weekly releases and I'm very kind of "disappointed".
I mean, every week we have a new anime, that in my conception it's harder to make then a manga. But these animes include much more content then each manga release.
I wanted to know why are Naruto's manga so short?(As I said, Naruto is the only Manga I've read, so I have no idea if others are as short as this)

well because I'd say he's drawing them by himself he doesn't have as big a team as the animators do

Manga chapter sizes differ, but most Shonen manga like Naruto have the same amount of pages. The manga chapters are shorter than the episodes because the anime just has to anime what was drawn in the manga, while the manga has to make everything from scratch.

Manga's require a lot of drawing and cleaning, much harder than anime in my opinion. Let's not forget he has to insert all the dialog and what not. Anime's easier because it's done on computer and they already know what to do.

how long did it take you to read the entire manga?

I just read from the fight of Edo-Nagato/Edo-Itachi on. It took me less then 2 days.(I work 8 hours + 2 of transport)

plus the show goes off from the manga, so the use the manga as a skeleton and just fill in gaps to make it last longer. and if you read the manga and watched the shows you would realize the episodes sometimes overlap the manga

wait did you ever go back and read any chapter before the edo nagato vs naruto/bee/itachi fight? if not I highly suggest you do it because the previous arcs are way better than this war arc

you should read all the manga and watch most of the episodes and you will get your answer. plus you will have a lot more knowledge of Naruto in general. there are a lot of people here that think they know all, but they have no idea what they are talking about because they don't pay attention to anything and and forgotten the basics.

I once considered to read from Ep-01...but after Ep-10 I gave up! haha I don't know if I have the balls to read 500 mangas :S

Yeah. I dare to say that I knew when an episode was a filler even before I started to read the Manga.
Sometimes it's to obvious!!

yeah i know what a filler is, the reason is say to watch the episode is when you know it isnt right, knowing when someone is getting the two mixed up is huge, so you can correct them

Bro the way I see it, the whole point of manga is to show you the story from a still-picture view and if you wonna skip ahead to find out about the story(i.e. what will happen next after a chapter). However, the anime is different. The whole point of anime is if you want to actually see the story in action and as moving-pictures. So the anime is likely to be behind with the story but that's only because it's more entertaining and let's say a page from the manga chapter is more elaborated. Hope this helped and sorry if I made it a little awkward.

if you don't want to read all the chapter then you could start at part two of the manga which starts at chapter 245...
just a heads up, chapter 245 on up is shippuden....anything before that is the original

Hmmm! Good Idea...It will cut in half the amount of mangas I need to read.
Anyway, at least I didn't get lost.I was able to keep up with the manga and understand everything.
Are the manga and anime THAT different before the War arc?

There is a reason why the Chapters are so short, because Kishi is lazy (like most of Manga makers)=D

Seriously Im not buying that he needs so long to draw a few pages, he is making Naruto for 14 (!) years now..he could do it with closed eyes.
He could make 30 pages and still would be finished in one day, still giving him 6 days free time until the next release. But he probably wants to finish his weekly work in 3-4hours and jerk around the rest of the time.


@gjpaixao13: Advice from my side: Dont rush in reading the old chapters. You experienced yourself how boring the weekly waiting is..take your time and read maybe 5-10 chapters a day. That way you can have Naruto fun for a few months.
