Two years ago the president of the United States was assassinated on live television by an unknown assassin. Vice President Robert Kelly took office and his 1st order of business was an executive decision to pass The Mutant Registration Act which requires that all mutant be registered with the US government. This act of congress has led to the establishment of the MRD(Mutant Registration Department) A branch of mutant hunters armed with ability supressing technology. They are dedicated to capturing and detaining those mutants who are not registered with the government.
Outraged, many mutants have taken to the streets in protest of the MRA(Mutant Registration Act) but these protests quickly turned to violence. Tensions between mutants and humans have reached a boiling point. The Streets have become a warzone. As human and mutants vie for dominance over the world, an even greater threat looms over the horizon; a dark force and malevolent force that threatens far more than planet earth.
As a young mutant coming into his or her own, you find yourself thrust in a world divided between your own kind and those who fear and hate you. There are roads for you take, but none of them are easily travelled.

RANKS
As you complete missions for your faction you will gain renown. After acquiring a certain amount of renown you will rise in rank.Class 1:
As a class 1 mutant your mutant powers have only recently manifested and you have little to no control over them. Class 1 mutants seek out other mutants with more experience as mentors to instruct them in the use of their mutant abilities. This is the starting rank for all mutants.
Class 2:
You have gained some understanding of your powers and how to use them either by being mentored or through self discovery. But there is still a great deal for you to learn. You must earn 500 renown in order to reach this rank.
Class 3:
You have received formal training in the use of your abilities and have gained a better understanding of how your mutant abilities affect both you and those around you. You have seen your fair share of combat and know how handle yourself in dangerous situations. You must earn 1000 renown to reach this rank.
Class 4:
You have mastered your mutant powers and are a force to be reckoned with. Both humans and mutants love or fear the very mention of your name. You must earn 1500 renown to reach this rank.
Class 5:
The most powerful mutants on earth belong to this class. Your words can sway armies and your powers can alter the very landscape around you. You must earn 3000 renown to reach this rank.
Celestial:
With total mastery of your power comes a greater understanding of the world around you and your place in it. You have transcended the normal bounds of human and mutant limitation. You very presence alters the course of events and your power can destroy worlds. You must earn 10,000 renown and meet a specific requirement to achieve this class.

When the MRA was passed Xavier’s Institute of Higher Learning was one of the hardest hit. The X-Men’s founder, Charles Francis Xavier, perished during the raid on the mansion by the MRD. Those X-Men who survived were either captured or have gone into hiding. Though the mansion is in ruins, most of the underground base has remained intact. As an X-man you fight to uphold the ideal that mutants and humans can coexist together in peace and use your powers to protect both human and mutant kind.

A branch of the X-Men founded by Professor Charles Xavier and close friend and allay Dr. Moira McTaggert, Excalibur deal with missions that focus on heavy combat. Excalibur’s base of operation is located on Muir Island. Because of the nature of the missions assigned to Excalibur, they only accept mutants with a certain degree of combat experience.

Morlocks:
Over the decades the Morlocks have been many things; Mutants too hideous to been seen in public, a group of Ex convicts and orphans, but most recently freedom fighters. The Morlocks operate beneath the streets of NY City. They use the sewers to move about secretly attacking MRD checkpoints and rescuing captured mutants. The Morlocks offer temporary protection and sanctuary to displaced and hunted mutants until they can be transferred to Genosha.

Personality (optional): Red Phoenix is, by nature, a charismatic individual. His good looks and friendly demeanor is one of the main reasons Professor Charles Xavier chose him as the leader of Excalibur. Though normally a good natured person, Red Phoenix shares his mind with that of the Phoenix entity. In times of duress, the phoenix’s personality emerges in unpredictable instances. Red Phoenix can appear calm and laid back and just as quickly turn cruel and malicious when angered or soft and compassionate when those close to him suffer.
History: Kyrien Bennett was born in Limerick, Ireland. Not much is known about Kyrien’s parents. All Kyrien knows is that both his father and mother were mutants and vanished shortly after leaving for the United States. Under foster care, Kyrien’s abilities began to manifest at the age of 12. He accidentally burned down his foster home and was exiled from Limerick when the people learned he was a mutant. He travelled north though Clare and eventually settled in Galway, Ireland where he was adopted by a small band of mutant called Shadow’s Hand. For the next 6 years Kyrien developed his mutant powers under the care of the Shadow King who sought to cultivate and take over Kyrien’s body for himself when he came of age. Unbeknownst to the Shadow King, Kyrien’s body had already been inhabited by another entity; one of seemingly god-like power. It called itself the Phoenix. A mere fragment of its former self, the Phoenix drove repelled the Shadow King’s attempt to snatch away Kyrien’s body and spirited him away to Muir Island where he met his birth mother for the 1st time. Moira informed Professor Xavier of the Phoenix’s return, to which he immediately embarked on a journey to Muir Island to confront an old and powerful adversary of the X-men. The Phoenix simply informed the professor that it had returned because an event was about to happen that would affect the entire galaxy and it starts on earth. Though young, the Phoenix had not found a vessel strong enough to contain its power since that of the Legendary X-Man Jean Grey. Kyrien possessed the potential but his mind was still not strong enough to control the base emotional desires that are amplified by the Phoenix’s presence inside of him. After many sessions, Xavier and Kyrien managed to seal the bulk of the Phoenix’s powers away with a series of advanced psychic barriers to prevent the corruption of Kyrien’s mind. The result was a mutant with the potential to destroy stars. Kyrien has spent the last 10 years as leader of Excalibur where he uses his powers to aid those in need. But his true purpose has yet to be revealed.
