Currently Naruto > Sasuke, I have a feeling Suigetsu will show up after the fight with Kabuto with what he found in Orochimaru's hide out and w.e it is will give Sasuke the boost to make him >= Naruto. I agree on you that Sasuke later on will have a power boost....but i disagree that they will be equal......Cause Naruto is gonna meet the SO6P the same way he met those dead jinchurikis and tailed beast......He would address him may be Sage Grandpa, or simply Grandpa....That would be the point he will be able to master the bijju mode....He will surpass the SO6P himselfU_U....

So, i don't think Sasuke will ever reach the level of Naruto not until he leaves the same path of hatred intending to kill his own friendsU_U

Now come to the point they will fight.....Naruto will never kill Sasuke....but Sasuke wants to kill Naruto but he can't cause he won't be stronger.....Their fight will be epic....epic then the fight between Madara and Hashirama......Th reason for Naruto to said that they will die together is may be that they will die using up all the chakra they have......

You can compare any manga out there...the hero(from the right path) is always stronger and powerful then the villain(the dark/wrong path)...

near is weaker than light, goku is weaker than kid boo, naruto isnt a match for uchiha madara (yet), luffys weaker than gol d roger and possibly his father.

Obviously, Current Naruto >>>>>> Current Sasuke. However, either Kishimoto will have a stupid increase for Sasuke that he'll magically know how to use in 2 seconds, or Naruto will be handicapped in some way when they fight.

+/- 80% of the time the dark is stronger than the light. that being said, the light always overcomes the odds and beats the dark. Same with Naruto and Sasuke...
