well I'm sure there was supposed to be more but goldburg had an injury plus he's never had the best stamina tbh. I'm so happy he stomped the beast

Less than two minutes, still way better than their first match.

its been so many years since i watched the wwe, i saw the goldberg vs lesnar fight simply because goldberg was back after 12 goddamn years. obviously a lot of people must have watched that shit just because of goldberg, and if he didnt win against lesnar i dont think a lot of these people will continue watching.

Funfact: It was actually Lesnar who suggested the finish.

At first I was absolutely against the booking of Goldberg beating Lesnar but after seeing the promo Heyman delivered on last week's Raw, I'm starting to think otherwise about the storyline.

I think this tells a much more stronger narrative than Goldberg simply getting squashed by Lesnar and moving on to whomever is next (who right now, the list of credible fighters is very short) and here's why:

To begin with, Lesnar's current run was getting stale and to believe it wasn't would be downright false. His matches were extremely formulaic and predictable with some bursts of brilliance (I.E. crushing Orton's skull in) but despite that, Lesnar was and still is a must-see attraction and one of the very few on the roster who can bridge the gap between fans and non-fans alike until Goldberg stepped in.

The moment Goldberg was announced and his subsequent return to the ring, he was welcomed back with such an ovation, with such adulation that there was no way that this sort of event can be a one-off as it makes the most financial sense and it's what the fans want as well. He was someone who can rival Lesnar's power to attract crowds even if it's just out of nostalgia or novelty.

Knowing this and knowing he has been out of the wrestling business for around 12 years, there is always the worry and the doubt that he could no longer 'hang' and having the announcement of Brock v Goldberg II so close to the event itself, it would be quite the feat to condition yourself and prepared for a wrestling bout after such a hiatus even if you were someone in your prime and not someone turning fifty in a month's time. Goldberg, I don't believe, had achieved it and the critics were out when he had a skirmish with Rusev and completely slipped when trying to execute a manoeuvre. If given a 20-30 minute slot to challenge Brock, his weakness and stamina would have most likely been apparent and would make the final outcome even more farcical. This way ensures an extra few months for Goldberg to get himself fitter.

This storyline dictates that Lesnar, after steamrolling the entire uppercard of the WWE locker room, had become complacent and that he was untouchable -- a god in the universe of Wrestling and a god vanquished by his own arrogance. Lesnar is now in a new light, a light where he now has something "to prove" instead of just collecting a pay cheque and now going into the Royal Rumble with both Lesnar and Goldberg participating, all eyes will be on them and the carnage that will ensue with undoubtedly the climax reaching Wrestlemania XXXIII and Lesnar getting his win back and conquering the streak of Goldberg by being the only one to beat him cleanly (without cheating) and having his aura as the beast return to him.
