-death of most of the akatsuki members
-akatsuki leader TNJed by sage naruto
-sasuke uses his MS to the fullest at kage summit
-danzo 6th hokage candidate killed by sasuke
-naruto gets KCM
-sasuke gets EMS
-fourth shinobi war started
-kabuto TNJed by by itachi's izanami
-five kage soloed by madara
-naruto gets BM
-obito and madara become jin of juubi one after another
-obito soloed by SA

and u learned to open only one more gate after the 5th gate.....
and u say hard work is everything ......

Oh yeah, Lee is such a dumbass, I what's a little injury, that could've make him unable to fight again, who care Lee. He could've risked his body to explore the gate, pain is trying, who cares if you would've risked you life, using that jutsu again.

Lemme tell you the reason:
-To leave Lee a room for improvement.
-Not to make Lee die over 8th gate.

For ex. if Lee had 7th gate his only improvement would be 8th gate thus death.
But with only ability of 6th gate his next improvement won't kill him. Kishi does not want to kill Lee and use 8th gate more than once against Madara.

You're confusing the time manga has been going and the time in the manga it self. We have watched Naruto as a 12 year old and we saw him after 3 years. Lee was heavily injured from that fight with Gaara, he should have quit to be a shinobi. I say Naruto will make Lee able to open 7th gate perhaps if he saves Gai from dieying. Anyway Lee has done a great job being a ninja after being at the edge to quit being one.

Lee's only improvement is to eventually get 8th gate. There's no other direction and 'saving' it so his next improvement won't kill him doesn't change that 8th gate is ultimately his end improvement. If kishi really wants to branch off, nothing stops him from giving lee the ability to use 7th gate, then branch off to something else... Drunken fist, a new gate technique, whatever he wants.

As to the last sentence, If lee actually has to fight madara/protect himself from him, 8th gate will kill him, 6th gate will get him killed.

Gai and Dai spent approximately 20 years of their lives to train and reach the 8th gate.
Lee's hard work is respectable.
