With WrestleMania XXXI just around the corner, I thought I'd toss up some of my predictions.
First things first, Cena is going to take Rusev on. It's not the main event, but it's the one that has my interest the most because of the promos they've been doing. I think Cena will win the match, but I don't think that'll be all there is to it. On the contrary, I've found myself considering that Cena might turn heel any time now. Wrestling fans have been complaining more and more about his gimmick getting stale, and at this point I'm starting to agree. What I'm thinking is that he'll do something like the wildly popular "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan gimmick of the late Attitude Era. With how he acted in a recent RAW, knocking Rusev unconscious over and over until his manager agreed to a match, I'm interested in seeing a new, more ruthless Cena take the stage. Maybe he won't turn full heel, maybe he'll develop a "Stone Cold"-esque anti-hero persona? I think a change is definitely on its way for Cena, and though I think he'll take the match, it would be interesting for Rusev to take it and for Cena to turn heel because of the defeat.
On to the bigger events, though. Lesnar and Reigns. I'm not a huge fan of either one, Lesnar especially. The man has no respect for the business, he's just in it for the money. Reigns has been overpushed, but I think there is some talent buried within there. Honestly, he'd work better as a heel; that malicious smile on his face when Punk took on the Shield made me think he could be a great heel. Anyway, this one could go either way, but I think Lesnar will take it, culminating in a continued rivalry between the two that ends next SummerSlam with Reigns taking Lesnar down.
I'm not really into Wyatt vs Undertaker... the Deadman should have left when the Streak broke. I think it's pretty easy to say Undertaker will take the match.
Then there's the real big one; Madara Uchiha vs Sasuke Uchiha. A big match if there ever were one, with Sasuke just coming off of his recent turn to face. I think Sasuke will be taking this one, because they just recently started pushing him as a big threat since his promo with Naruto where the two turned out to be evenly matched, even if Sasuke ultimately said he lost. I think Sasuke is too big a name to lose the battle, and Madara is admittedly getting old. This might very well be his last match, especially if Sasuke takes it. I doubt it'll be a curbstomp, though - the match will be big, and it will be long. I think, though, Sasuke will come out on top by the end, maybe foreshadowing a rematch with Naruto by the end of the match. The fans love Madara, though, so he might just come out on top and start a rivalry with Sasuke, again possibly leading to a rematch in SummerSlam. Though, if they're going that route with Lesnar and Reigns, I'd like to see only one angle like that. So, either Reigns will beat Lesnar, or Sasuke will beat Madara.
