You seem to claim to be a fan of Itachi, yet somehow you missed out the final technique which did kill Itachi.

Logic would dictate that the huge strain of that kind of fight, which was vs Sasuke and also Orochimaru for a moment. AND the illness combined, was the cause of his death.

A healthier Itachi would have survived the whole thing.

1st Itachi wasnt beating Sasuke b4 susanoo, but he wasnt trying to win so it doesnt matter. TBH, Itachi pretty much killed himself. Without using his MS techniques he was already>Sasuke. He knew what his condition was and he decided to push himself and use all his techniques anyway. He was careful to not use his techniques more than once a day in part 1. Itachi did this to test Sasuke, to push him, and to make Sasuke really feel like Itachi was trying to kill him. In the end this effort caused his demise.

Actual combat (Ninjutsu as well) Itachi fled to the roof.

Itachi would have died if not for Susanoo.
