Itachi has aided greatly in the Shinobi war. Why are you guys trying to dismiss his achievements and saying he failed.

1. Stopped himself. Edo Itachi would have destroyed everyone. He has the most invincible Susanoo combined with an OP genjutsu. Everyone would have been slaughtered.

2. Stopped Nagato. Does this really need to be explained. Nagato is insanely OP. He can single handedly destroy villages in seconds. Bee and Naruto would have been already captured if it wasen't for Itachi.

3. Stopped Kabuto. No explanation needed.

4. Stopped the rest of Edo's

5. Madara still Edo.

However, it seems Madara is still an Edo. He only broke the contract with Kabuto, but he's retained all of the traits (unlimited chakra, invulnerability). Itachi didn't really help in dealing with Madara, though.

5. Most of you don't see this but he was weakened Madara. He is no longer EDO. This is huge. He no longer has unlimited chakra and can die now.
