Sasuke was clearly in physical contact with Naruto, which is the only known requirement for Ningendo (Human Path) - taking out the victim's soul. Instead, he chose to just absorb Kurama's chakra. He could have also stored Naruto's soul in Jigokudo (Hell Path), not necessarily killing him.

That jutsu probably requires chakra and he was too tired. He needed the chakra he adsorbed just to stand up.

I'm sure it takes chakra to rip out a soul, and Sasuke didnt have any.

He should of used shrina tensei before hand, it's just a matter of knowledge.

Sasuke picked up what he learned, he picked up the absorption technique from Madara.

I don't think he was awake to pick up human path from Obito against Madara.

He should have absorbed Naruto's jutsus too instead of countering. He would have had more chakra to easily finish Naruto off.
