Simply put, Cell for this tournament wouldn't have worked for entertaining purposes. For tournament purpose, eh why not. He gets to fight people stronger than him, and he could use UI.. but what I feel you guys are getting. Cell isn't a character who can be developed much outside of what he is. He isn't an alien, he is a monster with no race. In a sense, another Goku but way darker. Frieza has dialogue and has motive. His hate for saiyans drive him to grow stronger.. etc etc

You do realize that the tournament of power doesn’t allow killing. Not to mention that Cell isn’t an android, he’s an organic being.
He’s more alien than he is robotic; he has the DNA of Frieza, King Cold, Piccolo, Goku, Vegeta, Future Trunks, etc. inside of him. All of whom are aliens.

But what is Frieza’s Motive? Do you really think that Cell wouldn’t have a motive if he was resurrected instead of Frieza in the Revivial of F?

If it took Frieza a short amount of time to get stronger, imagine what Cell could’ve accomplished. No, Buu tried both. The absorption attempt was how Vegito ended up inside of Buu, then he defused.

No, explain to me why you think Frieza would be better than Cell for entertainment purposes. But don’t just use blanket statements like “motive and dialogue”. Elaborate on your character preference like I did mine.

Cell killed 16, absorbed 17 & 18, almost killed Trunks (he actually did kill a different timeline’s Trunks lol), wounded Vegeta’s pride, crippled Gohan and got Goku killed. He talked far more shit than Frieza did and boasted his Perfect sense of narcissism. Plus, his Cell Juniors would’ve been perfect for the fights. At least I think so. They’re as strong as Ascended Super Saiyans (SSJ 1.5) and we’re beating the shit out of the Z fighters. I think Cell would’ve been far more useful than Frieza outside of his outdated powerlevel.



@Bold: Vegito put a shield around himself when he was absorbed. Plus his power level was on an entirely different scale than say Kale or Caulifa. The others haven’t shown abilities to use shields outside of Jiren plus they would be caught by surprise, they’ve never fought Buu before. Plus Buu has his Candy beam

Also you brought up Kale and Caulifla, as Kefla they might be able to defend against it. That said, I believe there are fighters strong enough to resist it.

The difference between Vegito’s scenario and everyone else involved in the TOP, is that Buu has the element of surprise in his side. They don’t know his abilities nor do they know how he executes his absorption technique. Vegito has wanted Buu to absorb him so that he could rescue all those that had been absorbed.
