Your thinking doesn't make sense. Jesus claimed multiple times to be God. If you don't believe that he's wholly God, then that would make him a liar, possibly the biggest liar in history, at that. Base on nothing to support that claim. We have witnesses of Jesus follows and he has surely made claims that would seem lunatic. He claim to be God many times. and also yea, most of the symbology associated with jesus was derived from the sun, which was the main god of most ancient pantheons.
