OT: Their sexuality doesn't mean anything. In Akame Ga Kiru Braht is homosexual, and I like him, in Air Gear, Akito/Agito was revealed to be homosexual, and I still loved his character, in OP Emporio Ikanov (a flaming homosexual, and when I mean flaming, I mean he's on the supernova status) was gay, I still like his character (he could lose that chin though, ew). I don't understand what's the big deal, it's 2014, smfh.

I wouldn't say they are petty. Prejudice is A powerful thing. Humans have an instinct to group together, and form groups. They form the bias that those in an outgroup are all the same. With homosexuality being a minority compared to the social norm, it can come as an outgroup. You have beliefs: stereotypes. Then emotions: an uncomfortability. The a predisposition to action: exclusion/rejection.


Some who've commented may not have a concious prejudice, but a subconscious prejudice can lurk everywhere. Some might be accepting that notion.

I personally am straight. I don't really care about sexual preference. Would I be weirded out if some guy hit on me? Probably. More so because I'm straight and that's a outlying event for my social norm or a subconscious bias. It isn't personal, it just instinctively conflicts with who I am. It's basic psychology as opposed to ignorance or respect for another individual.


That being said, provided a character keeps his/her personality... I'd probably have no problem. Who am I to judge?! Now I would be disappointed if personality entirely changed. As that's a change in character as opposed to just a hidden revelation.

Mutual respect: would help the world spin peacefully.

Yes, I would. Another manga I read had some homosexual characters in it, but those characters were still BA.

Besides, sexuality barely even matters in Naruto. So many characters have bromances with one another.
