Yeah, honestly in my opinion they never should've gone beyond SM and MS. It would've made VotE2 that much cooler (think of the whole fight being strategic taijutsu-ninjutsu combination rather than huge nuking for half of it).

I liked the chakra modes except BSM was over the top. Made him look over the top tacky. RSM simplified it nicely tho.

The war should of been in the "the last" era. They looked so much cooler and ready for a final boss.

If you think of it The Taijutsu parts were all Naruto in base mode so it's satisfying
